Triangulate This! Set Alternate MOCathalon Entry
Here is my entry in the Set Alternate category for the MOCathalon Team Triangulate This! round 2
About this creation

Cruising the depths of the Devil's Triangle, the guardian keeps watch over King Neptune's realm.

This was built using the Gateway of the Squid set 8061. And yes it will appear in future Devil's Triangle builds.

Even the stand was build using pieces from the set. Nothing artificial here folks.

Besides Yuri's categories, the set alternate is actually a LOT more tougher than I would have thought possible.

Here is the parts shot. As you can see this was an unopened set before I started. If the judges need an actual tear down shot, please let me know and I will post it immediately! I would prefer not to if it can be helped as I've become attached to the little guy. ;)

Well there you go guys. Hope you all like it. And Yuri, using the minifig heads and helmets for eyes IS my original idea. Feel better?

Excellent work. I was planning on using this exact set for set alternate but ran out of time in the Moc Athalon. You really did it justice. -Sam

One of the most original alternates I saw so far. Great thinking with those bulging eyes! 5 points.

Great use of parts and a great little creature! All 5's, until Yuri wanders in and slaps you with a 2.....good luck, hope you get that perfect score!

Thanks all, I'm glad you like it. It was one of those rare builds where everything just fit into place However it took quite a few days of idea tinkering before it came to that point. It also captured the attention of my step sons who can't stop talking about it and can't wait to "play" with it (AKA tear it to pieces!) LOL

Nicely done, and even though you took an underwater set and built an underwater creature... It is so organic looking that I have to award five (5) points. Lee.

This is creepy and cool, like some sort of twisted alien fly or something. I love it!!!

Awww, he's so cute! And that was longer than an hour by the way... Now get back to the chat room so we can distract you more! HAHAHA ~ Chris.
