Eurobricks' Finest - MOCathlon 'Real Vehicle' entry (Round 2)

About this creation

The 15cm s.IG.33 Infantry gun or 15cm schwere Infanterie-Geschütz Model 33, was first introduced as early as 1933 and was the heaviest of the German infantry guns. The development of a hollow-charge anti-tank round plus a stick grenade for use against fortifications meant that the gun would continue to be used tight up until the end of World War II.

I originally started toying with this MOC to feature in an Indiana Jones LEGO comic I was working on which never went ahead. The MOCathlon gave me the boost to refinf my original design dramatically, making it far more accurate!

A gun like this would be crewed by several men but I've just included one here for the purposes of scale.

The front barrel can independantly pivot upwards up to 80 degrees - I forgot to take a photo of this but will most likely sort that soon!

The bar at the back serves for quick redeployment...

It's great fun trying to get detail into smaller builds like this and I'm really happy with how this turned out. I hope you like it!

I posted it purely because I had the photos ready - no malice intended. I knew we'd hit our 30 mark and didn't see the harm in it. Hope it'll still be accepted!

Quoting Braeden G Not bad but the blast sheilds should be a bit smaller

It's a challenge getting the proportions right at this size - I varied the shields a fair bit (there's only a single stud in it most ways!) before settling at this size which I reckon looks about as close as it can do at this scale.
