TOD-4C Cannonball TransOrbital Dropship
A transorbital dropship for landing troops, vehicles, armor and supplies. Nicknamed the "Cannonball" by the troops who beachhead aboard the TOD-4C because of the hotdrop capability of this craft. Minifig scale to current scale is 4 to 1 respectively.
About this creation
Hotdrop:
Method by which a dropship takes the quickest, steepest trajectory into a planet's atmosphere to the surface, within the limits of the ship and its crew. The crew call the TOD-4C the "Cannonball" due to the fact that it fires full thrust until the last moment and then activates the heat shielding atmosphere armor projectors as it plummets into the atmosphere on a course that would incinerate most other craft. Should the Cannonball fail to pull off the hotdrop, it and its crew would impact the surface as an artillery shell. To date only three unsuccessful hotdrops have occured, two due to enemy fire, one to pilot error.

Powered by 3 TransOrbital class Engines, the TOD-4C can accelerate faster than any other dropship currently in production by the ESC. Pilots use this speed advantage to hotdrop troops safely to the surface of the DZ.

The bottom of the TOD-4C contains landing skids fixed directly to the bottom hull, as well as atmosphere armor projectors that are used as heat shields for the particularly dangerous hotdrop procedure.

The center gull wing retro thrusters used to slow descent and effect a relatively soft landing. During normal flight, these are folded down out of the way, and rise to provide braking for descent and for vtol capability.

The bottom view of the hull once more, this time with the gull wings up. They are placed at the center of gravity to maximize their effectiveness.

The foreward section serves to house troops for deployment and their gear, whereas the aft section serves to deploy light armor and recon, as well as supplies to be dropped. Each section has a large loading ramp and door on each side of the side for rapid loading and unloading.

IMPORTANT NOTE: The TOD-4C is not armed and carries no shipboard weapons. These dropships must be escorted when not used for a hotdrop. However, the atmosphere armor projectors provide a superior defensive against all non energy based ground defenses, thrawting all but the heaviest caliber AA guns.

Quoting Luiz Fernando Camargo Attacking on LDD now Jason? Anyway, it's very well conceived, although looks very similar to Star Wars models like Tantive IV. The color scheme is great. Congratulations!
Actually, I have several done on LDD, before it was erased. I just haven't transfered them here yet. I do an LDD for most of my minimocs.
