MEGATRON (G2 in G1 Colour Scheme)
G2 MEGATRON in G1 Colours
About this creation
I got creative the other day (well, more than usual)and decided to build another Megatron. This time G2 Megatron. Since I was never a big fan of G2 in my youth, I decided to forego the green and purple / blue colour scheme in favour of G1 colours (I think I will save the green and blue to make the Constructicons). The transformation is similar but not entirely the same as the G2 toy. The final result turned out pretty good I think. Take a look!

Robot Mode....

Transformation....

Vehicle Mode....

Megatron vs. Version 4 Optimus Prime....

Watch for more Legoformers creations to come. On my workbench right now there is Powermaster Optimus Prime (Super Ginrai) Tracks and Fortress Maximus in various states of construction.

I refer to G2 as pertaining to characters in the G2 comic series and related G2 versions of the original toys released in the late 80s early 90s

G2 = Generation 2 an attempt by Hasbro to remarket some of the g1 favourites in weird colour schemes to get the next generation of kids to buy them in the 90s. Megatron in this encarnation was a blue and green tank (yuck) not a gun. I think there was a comic series and they showed old G1 cartoons with a new entrance theme if I a not mistaken, I was into girls at that time so I don't remember. LOL!
Quoting jake madau its cool but what is G2

The vehicle mode looks great, you can't even tell that it transforms. Of course, the robot mode suffers a little because of it, but overall it's great. Still very pose-able and well-proportioned.

Thanks for the continued support! And I have no doubt you could make an epic Megatron to face off with your awesome Prime model.
Quoting Louis K. Good decision to make it this color scheme. The head is genial, just like the rest of this fantastic transformer! Whenever I see such a great one I feel like making my own, but I have no idea which one to build :( However amazing work!

Ball Joints is my advice, they give Lego Transformers life and poseability. Also check out my many Optimus designs here on MOCpages and those of builders like Louis K and many others who have built exceptional Primes from there you will get great design ideas.
Quoting A.J. Pride Wow! Awesome job! You definatly make the best lego Transformers :) 5/5 btw I'm currently working on a G1 Optimus Prime, think you can give me a few tips?
