About this creation
Team “Legion Of Verile Energetic Moccers Unified For Frivolous Ingenious Naughtiness” entry for the “5 Man Action Team” category of the 2010 MocAthalon!

It has been lost for longer than most can remember. The MOC of Ages. For the ones who find it, fortune and glory will forever be theirs… And now, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep, deep in the sub, sub, sub, sub, sub, sub, sub, (anyone else want a sandwich yet?) sub, sub, sub basement of a non descript building, lies “Phipson MOC Syndicate.” It is here, that after countless hours of research, Chris Phipson believes he has finally solved the mystery of where the MOC may be hidden.

Wasting no time, Phipson called the bravest, smartest and best adventurers that MOCpages has ever known! And when they didn’t answer he called these guys. The 5 Man Action Team!

Kelso: “Alright Chris. You dragged us down into the bowels of this building for what again?”

Phipson: “Legend tells of a MOC that launched an entire generation and helped define one man’s legacy for ages to come. No one knows exactly what the MOC itself is, or where it was hidden. The MOC and its location have always been a mystery… until now.”

Phipson: “Gentlemen, I have found it!”
Kelso: “You don’t mean…?”
Phipson: “Yes, the MOC of Ages. I’ve traced its final resting place to a cave deep in the Amazon.”

Kelso: “If we were able to find it, our names would be legend! Our legacy set in stone! Err, brick.”

Phipson: “And the stage is set…”

JD: “Dylan… umm. What’s up with your face dude?”
Dylan: “Still trying to get Lee’s Christmas moc out of my head.”
JD: “Yeap, that’ll do it.”

Kelso: “Onward men! To fortune and glory! I’ll race you guys up the stairs!”
JD: “Yeah, let’s do this!”
Dylan: “We’re going to be legends!”
Ian: “Can I hold the map?”
Phipson: “Hey guys! Wait…”

"...Never mind."

Ian: “Wahoo!”
JD: “Rock and roll!”
Dylan: “Rock and roll? Really? That’s what you’re going with?”
Kelso: “Don’t worry guys… *huff huff* I’m coming…”

Phipson: “Not sure why they didn’t want to take the elevator…”

DING

Phipson: “Hey there. How’s it going?”
Corey: “Fine thanks, and yourself?”
Phipson: “Good… good.”

(Elevator music): “Bow chika bow wow. That’s what my baby said. Mow, mow, mow and my heart starts thumpin…

Corey: “Nice weather we’re having.”
Phipson: “Yes, yes it is.”

Phipson: “This is my floor. Have a nice day.”
Corey: “You too.”

Corey: “What a moron…”

7 minutes later, in front of the building…

JD: “Chris? How did you get out here so fast?”
Phipson: “I took the elevator.”

Dylan: “There’s an… elevator?”
Kelso: “Don’t bother waiting for me guys!”
JD: “What’s with the apple?”
Phipson: “Keeping Lee Jones away. This thing is better than garlic for vampires!”

Phipson: “I have a plane standing by to take us to South America. Gentleman, fortune and glory await!”
Ian: “I’m holding the map.”

Cue Indiana Jones theme: Dun da dun duuun! Dun da duuuun…

Da dun dun duuun. Dun da dun dun dun…

13 hours later… deep in the Amazon jungle. (Ok, so it was across the street from the airport. Work with me here people.)

Kelso: “Are you sure we’re in the right place? All I see is rock and guano.”
Phipson: “Of course this is it. I’ve done extensive research on this. Our prize awaits us somewhere inside this cave.”

Dylan: “I’m with Kelso on this. Are we sure this is the right place?”
Ian: “I’m holding the map.”
JD: “Well that was helpful.”

Phipson: “This is it! I can feel it!”
Kelso: “Speaking of feeling it, where exactly where you hiding these flashlights again?”

Phipson: “Alright men, spread out. The MOC of Ages is somewhere in this cavern.”
Dylan: “I can’t wait to find out what it is.”
JD: “It’s probably “Flight of the Nova Taurus” or “Schism.”
Ian: “I’m holding the map.”

Phipson: “We’re close… we’re so close…”

Kelso: “Hey Chris! I found it!”
Phipson: “Let me see it! Let me… no.”

Phipson: “Why? Of all the MOCs on all the pages… why did it have to be THAT?”
Kelso: “It’s ok Chris… we’re here for you.”

JD: “It’s truly a sad day when you realize your entire MOCing career is defined by Duplo.”

Dylan: “Some legends are best left to mystery. Leave it here guys. Let’s go home.”
Phipson: “Why? Why did it have to be that one? It’s going to follow me to my grave!”

JD: “Next time, I want to hold the map.”

Tune in next time for another exciting adventure with…

The 5 Man Action Team!

Fourth wall commentary: Self deprecating humor is sometimes the most fun. I really had a great time building this post. I’ve actually had this moc “in the can” for about a week now but waited till today to post it. When you see Dylan’s post, you’ll know why and you’ll find out just “who the heck is Corey?” I used so much SNOT in this that Lee Jones is going to have to check me for a sinus infection. Let’s take a quick behind the scenes look at some of the mocs shall we?

Here’s the Indiana Jones inspired map. I actually left the tiles up a little bit in parts to try to give it a wavy texture. In the original draft of the story, I really didn’t have a way for the guys to get from the US to the Amazon. Watching Indy late Thursday night is when inspiration struck. I got up Friday morning and put this together before work. Moving on.

The front of the building that we begin our adventure in. I’m really pleased with how this build came out. The sidewalk, stairs and front entrance are SNOT and the working revolving door was a bonus for my daughter when she wanted to play with it.

And the cave entrance in the Amazon. See kids, you don’t have to build big to give the feeling of something being bigger than it really is… (insert “that’s what she said” joke here). I’ve never been that good with rock work so overall, I’m fairly happy with how this one came out.

And that’s all for now everyone! Hope you guys enjoyed checking it out as much as I enjoyed doing it! Till next time true believers!
~Chris.

PMS. I noticed immediately. We just can't help ourselves, now can we? LMAO You, Jones, Kelso, all of you HAD to have been kitchen workers in previous lives! Your exteriors are superb and the revolving door? Perfect detail. As for the crossover, I'm with Goldman, you guys really took the teamwork to it's apex. Stinkin', evil geniuses! LOL~H

Quoting Gringat the Repugnant Wow. If The Phipson MOC Syndicate's next adventures are as funny as this, the top of my head might well fall off! Go P.M.S! ...Did you call them PMS deliberately, by any chance? :P
Yeap. And you're the first one to point that out... not sure how many others "got it," but you're the first to say it.

Oh my God, man, where do I begin? Ian's shtick? Dylan's face? The elevator? How about the fourth wall break with "the stage is set" bit? And from the moment you mentioned defining one man's legacy, I had my suspicions. How fun is it to go through a story, and at the end exclaim "Ha! I knew it!!!" Just priceless, Phippy. Gotta be one of my favs of yours. So aside from the contest, I would LOVE to see a whole series of these!!!!

Wow! Aren't YOU full of yourself (Just Kidding)! Nothing like pokin fun at yourself to get others to feel better about themselves (there's a moral there somewhere). Anywho, love all the scenes and the Indy homage. Also Ian: "I'm holding the map" reminds me of Matt Damon in Team America: "Maaatt Damon." Classic!

How did I know you would do this category for your team? Great comedy as always, Chris. What made me laugh the most, however, was the perpetual scream on Dylan's face. "What's up with your face?"...priceless.

Great work -- the building facade and the cave were some of your best. Funny stuff, too. Holding the map is an important job, and I'm glad you had the most valuable member of the team doing it. I don't think holding an apple is going to work though; I've met Dr. Jones and it doesn't seem like there's anything on this earth that would deter him from probing the depths of your, umm, soul.

Ha ha! Apple. Ha ha. Lee Jones. Ha ha. Garlic. Vampires... *hem hem* Anyway, great builds! They were all original! I like the cave techniques, and for some reason I really like how you put Phipson in the back corner of the elevator to make it seem roomy and stuff.
