Normandy SR2 (WIP)
Cerberus built SR2 'Normandy', heavy stealth reconnaisance frigate
About this creation

Firstly, allow me to appologise for the low quality images. I will be working on that problem (provided my 4MP camera doesn't eat too many batteries!)

Secondly, the ship is in her final stages of construction - all remaining issues minor cosmetic details

TO-DO
Install THANIX weapons system with retractable hatches
Cosmetic improvements to underside of wings and engines
Add neon-blue engine flares

I intend to photograph her again without the ugly white lettering on the hull - it's suprisingly difficult to write on a flat plate in LEGO bricks, especially when space is at a premium (one more character, and it would not have fit!)

At 1.25m, the SR2 rivals my Prince of Wales for length, although unlike the battleship, I forsee problems displaying and transporting the Normandy due to her wingspan.

Structurally, the ship is sound. Has been repeatedly lifted and moved, and as can be seen from the poor quality images, it rests quite happily on the hangar bay section - the lowest point of the hull, and conveniently enough, the ship's centre of gravity. In the images, the 'stand' is an upturned storage box. No alterations or additions to the hull were made to allow for this.

Bow window are actually windows. A detailed cockpit interior complete with minifig 'Joker' will be added at a later date (hopefully!).

I welcome all feedback and constructive comments!

Do you have instructions to build the Normandy SR2? It looks like it on the table if so I would love to have them. The normandy is my favorite frigate in all the sci fi universe I would understand if you didn't want to give them out though.

This is fantastic and looks to be spot on with the proportions and details. I created a very small version just the other day and was thinking of going up in scale. I could never compete with this though you've nailed it.

Never liked the games much, but the Normandy is such a cool looking ship, and such a tough shape for lego. Fantastic job.

Wow! This is amazing - I had the Normandy in mind as a next project! It's great to see that you build this stunning and beatiful ship only with the CE Art Book! Great work! Can't await the final post. - Kevin

That's a wicked-cool shape you've created! Nice job on the color work, too. I'm a fan of the no-studs approach, and would've loved to have seen it done that way. Still, very nice. One thing I might suggest, if you can, is to try to get few more clearer pics, and perhaps some close ups. Something this well done deserves to be seen, and a good presentation will really help that. Great stuff!
