Coaltion Sky Raider troop transport
My entry for the 3rd fleet MOCoff! This time I get a chance to have good photo taking time and weather! Enjoy!
About this creation
Coaltion Sky Raider troop transport

Time to type I guess. This hover enabled troop transport moves quickly across the battlefield, guns blazing, to support or deliver troops into the thick of the fighting.

Coaltion Sky Raider troop transport

Armed with two forward slung machine guns, two pods of 6 missiles each, and two door mounted PlasmX machine guns, the Sky Raider can really bring the pain to enemy infantry and dug-in troops.

Coaltion Sky Raider troop transport

The Sky Raider can fit one pilot, a co-pilot/gunner, and up to 4 infantrymen in the rear. The ability to fit a full squad comes in handy when you need mechanized infantry.

The PlasmX door gun crew. The dark grey/trans blue canisters on the side of the gun are the plasma charge containers, like an ammo drum or something.

I'd like to say that I've been duped since the deadline WAS yesterday. I hope it won't affect the contest, but people will be able to see our creations early and attempt to best them with the week left. I'll leave it up and hope for the best.

Hmmm. Like the build, but you might as well have called it a Land speeder. If only you did this with a Land Raider...

VERY nice, Gus! A great presentation to start with. You've also done a wonderful job of making the design feel consistent throughout. It's a very clean build, and I love the angles, the subtle texturing, and most of all, the weapon work. Congrats, you've got my vote on this one!

Quoting Lego Lunatic Quick question: is there a certain strategy/program you use to make your pictures so clear?
First of all, thank you man! And as for my photos, I tend to take photos outdoors. I set up a backdrop, which can be blank paper, or black paper too. Take the photos in the shade so there is no glare. Then I use a manual setting on my camera (my family's camera is pretty a pretty nice Canon with all these functions and settings, but there are still ways to do good pictures without that) when I have good enough pictures, I will usually upload them to Flickr, a photo website that is becoming popular with Lego builders. http://www.flickr.com/photos/gus_indo/4373578512/ this is one of my photos on Flickr. I then go to all sizes (a button above the picture) and choose medium size. I go to the bottom of that and see the html for the picture. I copy and paste into a "add a creation" on MOCpages. It works great! It actually is faster than uploading to MOCpages and even makes the pictures clearer. That's how I make my photos so clear.

Unbelievable! I love the smooth and sleek design! I especially love the mounted turret design - very interesting! Quick question: is there a certain strategy/program you use to make your pictures so clear? Keep up the awesome work man and I would love it if you could check out some of my new stuff! Thanks!

Excellent, but I have a few questions. 1. are those missile pods near the pilots? 2. how are the troops supposed to stay in the troop bay? 3. Not really a question, but could we get some info on this transport? Other than that, Great job! hope you succeed in your MOCoff!

Quoting Brick Freak Excellent design you have here! I really like the 2 mounted machine guns on the back. A suggestion for the handheld automatics; Instead of those robot hands, you should use these: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItem.asp?P=2531 (that's if you have any.)
Good idea, thank you! but I'm afraid I don't have any of those.

Quoting danny morgan Nice, but isn't this just a slightly modified version of the Spacemarine landspeeder? It looks very similar to my 40k ladnspeeder.
I'm sorry, but is that a problem?

Quoting Commander Bear Great transport! Mind if I borrow the gun design? Just this morning I was working on a futuristic gun that would be easy to build, but still looked good. You solved my problem!
