BUMBLEBEE, G1 MINIBOT
G1 AUTOBOT BUMBLEBEE TRANSFORMER
About this creation
Finally I got around to building a G1 Minibot Bumblebee. Fully transformable between modes, he was a little difficult to figure out due to the space constraints. I used some bionicle and technic pieces to get the transformation just right. Bumblebee is to scale with minifigs and my other transformers creations. I added a little blaster so he can blast Decepticons like his fellow larger Lego Autobots.

Wow! I've been looking at your other Transformers and I am very impressed. You've really captured the look and feel of the original Bumblebee.

I don't have and LDD file or istructions for this guy or most of my creations yet! I just kinda make things trial and error without too much of a plan!

I see now. That probably wouldn't be stable for anything significantly heavier than this, would it? I've been trying to figure out a good, stable sliding joint for a while now, to no avail. Always too flimsy, or too clunky. :-P

It doesn't slide it folds. If you look at the third picture down under the heading "robot mode" and zoom in you will see the mechanism. Two beams attached behind the head rotate around one beam anchored near the waste.
Quoting Michael Crichton Can you post some pictures of the bottom during the transformation? I'm trying to wrap my head around how the sliding joint works.

Another amazing transformer, especially for this scale! I love the comparison pic to Optimus and the construction looks pretty complex. Great job!

Not bad!! You beat me to it :P I have been struggling to find a solution for mine! Anyways, great job, my only peave is the horns, they are supposed to be yellow, and on the SIDES of his head. 5/5!
