Entry from Praeclari Miles for category "Object Shown at Actual Size" in the 2010 MOC Athalon.
About this creation
Yup, its a syringe. They can save your life or destroy it. Lets just say recent personal events have inspired such a build.

Great scale, detail and presentation, but not enough to 'wow' me. I award 3 points to this creation.

A story from my dad... When he was in the elementary, he was called up in the nurse's office to get a shot. He said the nurse was uh la la, but when she took out the injection, he ran and jumped out the window! XD

Great job and congrats on the 2 5's so far. I had a needle about that size stuck in my foot after a rather nasty encounter with some broken glass.....so this gave me the shivers just looking at it!

Very nice, the model is accurate even if it's a small subject. 3 points from me. I haven't seen anything in this category that made me think "wow!" yet.

That's a great rendition of a needle Alex....I just hope that whatever sparked the idea is done and over with!

Best of luck with the other judges, they may not be as generous as I was with the scoring. Lee.

Quoting Dylan B You did a really good job on the entire piece, but I have to say that it might have been a unrealistic choice. A real needle is impossible to recreate with lego (just too small) and thus rendering this MOC not in the category "shown actual size."
Dylan - make sure you know what you are talking about before you open your mouth to speak (maybe a epipen or insulin needle, or more as far as knowledge goes, but really...). Discretion as "they" say. As for the build - hmmm, a 10cc syringe with (must be) at least a 14ga needle. Not something I would want to be poked with, but to scale none-the-less. Know your audience as I have already said. You even earned a rare LOL just for having the stones to post this. Now, although I said a rotary phone would earn a five from me - your berries have earned you a five (5) points. Lee.

You may be right; we'll just have to see what the judges say.
