GCC: (say each letter) Gravity Centering Cylinder
The Gravity Centering Cylinder is a component used on bipedal battle machines to shift their center of gravity without moving their legs excessively. Being simply a cylinder with a tracked mass inside to go back and forth, the GCC is very flexible when being mounted on a machine, although it must be set horizontally. In addition to the weight of the mass pulling down on a certain part of the machine, the momentum of the mass can also be harnessed to use for “running”. Being the first prototype machine to feature the GCC, the GRAVITY found it redundant because of the build of its legs. However, since the Gravity there have been several prototypes on which the GCC has proved useful, the first being the Horizon. Surely the GCC shall see many uses and advancements of itself in the future.
