About this creation
As he prepares to attempt to enter the realm of the birds, he waves goodbye to his family.
"Don't worry! Nothing can go wrong!"
...yeah, you can see where this is going, can't you?
I've never tried building in Steampunk before. Think this came out pretty good for a first go, though. As you can see, it's got two boilers and a plentiful supply of wood, coal and other flammable objects in the hopper just ready to go in.
And yeah, the hopper's the thing right behind the good captain.
Still! Nothing can go wrong!
Ever!
"If the good Lord meant man to fly, son, he'd have given him wings.
If you're going to challenge that, you really shouldn't be so cavalier about the whole thing."
"Oh, don't you worry yourself so much, father. It's a test! He wants to be sure we're clever enough to fly on our own! Nothing can go wrong!"
"And you really shouldn't tempt fate so, son."
"I tell you, nothing can go wrong! I did all the computations beforehand! It's all fine.
It'll fly."
"It must..."
I told you this contrivance would never work, didn't I? And then I told you that even if it did fly you really shouldn't be so cavalier about the whole thing? And then I told you that if you were going to ursurp the power of heaven and take to the skies you really, really shouldn't tempt fate, remember?
And remember what you said? Oh, nothing can go wrong you said. It's going to work perfectly, you said. I've done all the calculations, you said. Pah.

And that, children and feeble minded visitors, is why you shouldn't ever say 'nothing can go wrong'.
Fate loves a challenge, you know. And saying it when your mother gets excited over the TV balanced on the bathtub windowsill is just asking for trouble.
And yeah, the pic quality's a bit off, between the slight noise in the original images and the multiple recompressions. Try maximizing them, that makes 'em look better.

Well, there seems to be a bit of leeway. Anyway, the rules say no adjustments after a judge rates it. I'll ask and see if I'm able to change it, though. |

How should it be titled, then? And yeah, maybe it is too blocky, but steampunk aircraft are automatically incapable of flying simply by virtue of being powered by water and coal. |
