HVD Vigilante
The HVD Vigilante is the front-line light transport/dropship of the UNE. A VTOL, it can take off, land, and hover just about anywhere. Because it is so open, the HVD proves to be a tough target with more misses than hits. If you're asking, yeah, I might have taken a little bit of the overall design from the IG Valkyrie. An entry for the 3rd vs. 3rd MOC-off.
About this creation
Here she is with the armored drop pod.

In case you were thinking: "Oh, it can only stand because of the pod." Well, through the clever use (and complete lack of modesty) of bracing, it can stand on its own landing gear. In hind sight, this might not have worked if the wings were too much further back, or the tail a bit longer.

The music should have started by now. I was going to go for some epic-ness compilation; but by this stage in the game, it's almost become trite. So I went for a song that matched the name while still upholding the good old-fashioned, "we're coming for you" mood.

View from the back. I actually took a lot of inspiration from the Skytrain helicopter, if you know what that is.

Open cockpit. Pilot has quite a bit of computers so he doesn't royally mess up. Notice the big guns? I forgot about those, had all the pictures taken and even photoshopped; then I realized, oh yeah... Just a little frustrating.

Top bracing for the left wing.

Bottom bracing for the same wing. The rest of the bracing is in the body.

Oh yeah, it should be apparent by now that the pictures are 3,000% better than my last entry. This is due to the fact that I got a camera that is about 3,000% better than the camera that I used for my last entry. Circular reasoning? Perhaps...

The M-68 Armored Drop Pod. Capacity: 2. It can have a 'chute for low-level drops. It only breaks the fall, doesn't really slow it down much, effective for <10 meters.

The M-86 Troop Hanger. Ironic name since it doesn't provide any protection. Capacity: 8 (six shown). This one is for just behind the front lines reinforcements.

Just a bit more icing on the cake...

Ok, so I don't have to answer this question a dozen times, here's how I got the music:

Quoting Danny Morgan Aye it is. Was this inspired by the Valkyrie? (not my Valkyrie for the Indo Union, the Imperial Guard Valkyrie :P). In the new 23rd Century Universe we're creating, you'll have the opportunity to build as many awesome walking fortresses and super tanks and cruisers as you want AND get to use them in combat.
Oh, you know how to sweet-talk me into something! Yes, very much inspired by the Imperial Guard ships, that very one if I recall.

Quoting Deus _ I should make something like this, I might steal the idea for this shape, I hope you're OK with that.
Oh, go for it. The design isn't entirely original to me as it is. Warhammer 40k is intensely imaginative when it comes to military gear.

I thought I had commented on this, but I suppose not. Love the work on the main pic, the MOC looks great, real gritty, and the song makes me want to get down and dirty with it!! Good job.

A really cool creation. I have a weak spot for dropships, this one has all the features: heavy-duty looking, turbines, drooping wings, various cargo options... I like it!

Okay, Skiver, as with the others, some very nice work. No slouching in this contest so far...I really like the general shape of the design, although it feels very blocky to me. As I mentioned in another comment, military machinery can be blocky sometimes, but I think this is still a bit too much. Some very nice detail work, and I like the drop pod element that you've included. All in all, though, I'm going to have to go with your opponent this time. His interior work really pushed it over the edge for me. And I just have to get this off of my chest...not my favorite choice of music (Okay, to be honest, country music makes me want to violently projectile vomit blood and internal organs), but hey, that's why God invented volume control, right? Anyway, a very nice build (twangy-nauseating music aside), but IMHO, not quite enough to give you the win.

Please don't tell me I havent already commented on this....Anyway, this a work of sheer genius. Not even a Phoenix could come close to the intricate workings of this baby. I do suggest a little more protection for the troops, like a small bit of armor plating that swings down in front of them.

Quoting Awesome-o-saurus The Not-So-Great Looks like the Valkyrie from 40K. Also, you choice of music for this MOC makes my ears bleed, I had to mute the speakers and pause my organ music. I hate invisible music...
Yes, quite so. But then again I was honest about that up front; if you'd bothered to read the intro at all. Fact is, with all of the sci-fi out there, whatever we dream up will look similar to something regardless of our efforts.

That's ok, our respective soldiers would have had a hard time with those aircraft identification silhouette charts last round anyway... Yours was really the only original one.
