Okay, when I found this again, I didn't think it was you... Yeah, it's that good! No, I don't think you build badly, even though I just made it sound like I did... I just didn't think you had this much Lego! Okay, sorry for the ramblin's, enjoy your five heads... |

Its almost a big grey wall syndrome but you got away with it with the archs in the wall. It doesnt matter about the extra space you didn't have enough space to use it still looks great, especially the gallows

Splendid work, Jesse! Some refreshing detail as well. The tapered battlements are the bomb, and the softening of the tower corners is sublime. We also like the use of the tiles for the accent stones, giving it some real dimension! We're gonna pick up Garth and drive out there to test that "gallows height" issue (ooops! sorry Garth, were you listening? We Love you man!). Later, Pal! |

Haha, good eye. =) Those jumper plates were put there for minifig positioning but were never used. Gives the smooth ground some texture I guess... |

Do you set up every minifig just for pic taking, or do you have a way to keep them in place when you move the build?
Usually I like to use jumper plates to give the minifig at least one stud of grip, but for this particular MOC I just set 'em there due to the lack of sunny skies and time. =) So this time it was just for the photos.

It may need some windows to break the monoto- wait, who do I think I am? This is wonderful, and way out of my league!
Actually, I think you have a good point there. In my original plans there were plenty of windows, but for some reason they didn't get in...Ah well, there's always room for improvement.

JD, this is REALLY cool. It's very clean and solid, but yet shows an impressive amount of detail. The landscape is a bit plain, but it works for the overall look. Nice layout. I think most real castles are pretty small. The king and his family, plus a few of his men etc. If we could see out about the place there'd be a bunch of houses and stables scattered about. I do question the height of the gallows though. That's not much of a drop. Anyway, plenty of nice details and a great look. see ya. garth |
