About this creation
Due to a tie in Round 2, three teams were selected to participate in a tie-breaker. The official title is 'Private Round', but I personally don't like the name, so I'm calling it 'Round 2.5', to keep with the numerical system.
I decided to build in SNOT. The original plan was to build multi-tiered, of an industrial scene, but since I've been really busy lately, I didn't have time for anything big. (Those of you confused about the dimensions, see the section 'A Note to the Judges, below) For the vig, I decided to build Kashyyyk. Lots of MOCers build Kashyyyk, but it takes more than a Chewbacca and a Battle Droid on a green baseplate to make Kashyyyk. Because the rules call for an 8x8 base, I chose to build from Battlefront II instead of Revenge of the Sith, because Battlefront has a greater variety of foot soldiers, and less large vehicles. If you've played the game, you'll probably recognize this as the all-important Command Post #2, on the beach front.
By the way, sorry about the pics. My tripod was in use elsewhere, and I've already dismantled the vig. *groan*
I'm ranting again, aren't I? Here's the MOC:
Combatants:
The vignette features 4 combatants: A Wookie warrior, 91st Recon Corps Clone Trooper (mounted on a BARC), B1 Battle Droid (mounted on a STAP), and Jedi Grand Master Yoda. I am aware that Yoda did not directly participate in the Battle of Kashyyyk, however, as stated above, this is a depiction of the scene from Battlefront II, in which Yoda is the playable hero for the Republic forces on Kashyyyk. (Jango Fett is the hero for the Separatists, but, unfortuanately, I don't own his minifig)

A Note to the Judges: This vignette was built using SNOT. Using the well-known ratio of 5 plates=2studs, we can see that the vignette is 20 plates long, therefore, 20 divided by 5 times 2 equals 8 studs long

Quoting Tbone tbl
Wow props on cramming that many minifigs into so small a space. Snot was a good choice and I like the inclusion of the wall, with the action of Yoda jumping it. Nicely done.
Thanks. The 'cramming' part was probably the hardest.... |

Quoting MOODSWIM 8D
Simple it is, but nicely done! SNOT rocks!
It's a actually a lot more complicated than it looks. Since I only had 8x8 space, I had to cram in 2 plates of tan, 2 of green, a few of gray, a bunch of blue, and still build in attachment points for the vehicles/'figs. It doesn't help that the BARC's lowest point is studs-down. If it wasn't for the fact that I was a big City fan originally, I wouldn't even have had all the colors necessary. |
