About this creation
To fully understand this post, you NEED to read the fourth wall commentary.
On with the show!
Say your prayers little one
Don't forget my son
To include everyone

I tuck you in, warm within
Keep you free from sin
'Til the sandman he comes

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight

Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land

Something's wrong, shut the light
Heavy thoughts tonight
And they aren't of Snow White

Dreams of war, dreams of liars
Dreams of dragon's fire
And of things that will bite, yeah

Sleep with one eye open
Gripping your pillow tight
Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land
Now I lay me down to sleep
Pray the lord my soul to keep
If I die before I wake
Pray the lord my soul to take

Hush little baby don't say a word
And never mind that noise you heard

It's just the beasts under your bed

In your closet,

in your head.

Exit light
Enter night
Grain of sand
Exit light
Enter night
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land
We're off to never-never land
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land
Take my hand
We're off to never-never land
We're off to never-never land
We're off to never-never land

Fourth Wall Commentary: Let’s set the way back machine for… Mid November. I’m talking with Lee Jones and he says “Hey, check out these heads I’m getting for one of my projects.” At which point he links me to a Bricklink page. “Oh, those are cool!” I say. Long story short, we make a deal where he says “I’ll send you a few of these, along with some other parts. Your part of the deal is to create a moc using those parts. You can add to them of course, but you have to use all the ones I send you. This moc will be set to a poem that I send you after you get the parts.”
Here are the parts that he sent me (just the parts in the front. The floor and wall were mine.) Now... he said each part had a specific use in the moc but some of the parts I just couldn't figure out, so I gave it my best guess. Some of the parts met the lyrics of the poem just fine but others... Lee, what the heck was the pitchfork for?

So with those parts in hand, he emails me the “poem.” I open the email to find the lyrics to Metallica’s Enter Sandman. Songs are nothing more than poems set to music after all. So now, my job is to build the moc using the parts. I could have probably taken another week to get this posted, but I wanted to have it done before the MocAthalon started.
Thanks for playing along everyone. Till next time true believers!

Ooh creepy. For a second I thought the bedroom was a hospital room because of the sterile colors. But I really like it! The lamp design is genius, I've never been good at that. Nice work, and good job with matching the sets to the song. |

Interesting idea here. I like the idea of "cross-over builds", and such with other builders. I bet it was fun coming up with the set for it. You did a great job Chris. |

Lovely, atmospheric lighting, clever details (the lamp IS sweet) and who wouldn't want a pitchfork? Those things are pricey! I guessed what might be coming from the title, but the challenge aspect from Dr. Jones added a twist and the execution was spot on. Nice job Chris. |

I had to listen to the song while I read the lyrics. But you made a good call with not putting it directly on the page, there are too many long guitar solos that would have called for a lot more random pictures. awesome build altogether, and metallica rocks! good choice, lee! |

The other part of the deal, was to hit 50% of the points I wanted hit, with the hints provided in the parts given. So did you? Hmmm, well, you were close, but you edged over the line and yes you did. Don't get me wrong people, it is a great build, and I am not criticizing the work, just did Chris meet the criteria (did he guess from the hints). The monsters under the bed, him and I coming out of the closet as the true monsters. He did miss one of the of the heads sent to him (wolfman head). The window, lamp (I thought it was a telescope to be honest), and the bed are all nice touches. Well done Mr. Phipson the parts have been earned, and are yours free and clear. Lee. |

This is what you were talking about yesterday. It's good in the sense that you were very limited with the material choice. I really like the red glow of the night light to give it sort of a strange look. You did a really good overall taking to consideration the pieces you had to work with. -Dylan |
