Very nice! I love its big "burly" look and that it has all those accessories. A very good first mech :)

Wow! This is amazing for a first mech! I can definately see the Izzo influence. And I agree: the best way to get good at mecha building is to study others.

I can try, I've been studying these two people's work: Phong Chang: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/10486 izzo yoshi: http://www.mocpages.com/home.php/3952 They're masters it seems, especially check out Phong Chang's "Ruiz" it's incredible. The biggest tip I can give is study other's work, There's certain techniques to doing things, legs and feet especially that i've noticed almost everyone uses. Figure out how someone else did it, then see what you can do to improve on it/personalize it. Also color palette is important, using colors that compliment each other. Wish I could help more but This is my first one too, I actually applied to Phong Chang's group to become an apprentice and learn from the master.
