Mid-Engined Masterpiece (or so I think anyway)
I love cars and that love is only matched if exceeded by my love of Legos. Now for the first time ever these two loves of mine have been brought together even though the product is a little bit akward looking and not planned out very well. I still think that it is a Masterpiece for a first time build. Kudos to Firas and all you other car builders out there. It is definately challenging (and even more challenging when there is something it actually is supposed to look like), but also very fun at the same time which, I think is why you guys are hooked on the theme. So, without any further ado, I introduce you to not the super car of tommorow, but the supercar of yesterday!!! Built in a time of rising autogiants and (low gas prices) these mid-engined, wedge shaped masterpieces, were big, macho, and fast!! They were a symbol of the times and don't we miss those good times. (not that i'd ever know, but whatever)
About this creation

As you can see there is a lot of Cheese-block styling going on here. Even though it is a relatively easy shape I still used a lot of different techniques.

Another money shot... I think the headlights are kind of weird, but that was all I could come up with given the weird shape of the front.

Can you see the extra wide rear tires? On any cheese wedge supercar these are a must. The sort of wrap around sides behind the doors were inspired somewhat by the Audi R8, a beatiful car. Made I'll try that next.

The no-nonsense front of the vehicle with the sporty racing stripe.

This is a shot of the car from my favorite angle. The wheel wells were a right pain in the bumper to build.

A top view where you can see some of the racing interior of which I'm rather proud of.

The side view where you can see the ultra cheese-blockyness in this car.

A full top view where you can see the engine window and humungous spoiler. I don't really know how to spell humongous. uhh nothing really looks right, but I'm to lazy to google it or something like that. Do you like the picket fencing as engine vents. I added it on minutes before taking pictures of the car.

Another cool angle shot...

and then another...

Onward to the rear... The easiest part of the moc, because it is the easiest not to mess up and I only need to change the direction of studs 2 or 3 times.

Butt shot... Always a winner!!!

And then there were more...

And even more... Man do i like shots from the rear...

Another cool weird angle.

How bout we enter the interior.

Now you open your door...

A nice close up of the interior. Sorry for the blurry pic... The steering wheel is made of a tire stuck with two minifig hands stuck in one of the old magnet holders. Pretty engineous I think...

Another blurry pic. :(, but it's important. Here you can see the racing seats the hand brake, stick shift, and clutch pedal.

A view of the gauges and digital clock in the center.

Some ending photos of the engine block which is a twin turbocharged V8. It even has a little rev gauge on the top of it.

Now if you have put up with my jumbled first car, lazy commentary, and horrible puns for this long you can definately rate or comment on how weird looking it is or how bad my sense of humor is. :]

At first I thought this is one messy looking car.But after looking the car from the top view I can see what you were trying to achieve(and the lines look well integrated too). With lots of LEGO Ferraris and Lamborghinis out there, I see no reason why you shouldn't be proud of your(own, built from scratch) Mid-Engined Masterpiece.

For your first - congrats! Really! I see a grat potential in you. I see, that you see the right lines of car and you try to reach them, not just build a car like a box. You actually try to shape it in all three dimensions and that's really hard to achieve in LEGOs. But I car see from this little scrach, that you'll reach that level someday. And I'm sure that we don't have to wait too long :) Good luck!!

So great, why has no one commented on this. The lines are perfect, but to me the front could use some work. With that said, I think the car is perfect.
