The largest Rim Worlder ship yet.
About this creation
The Rim worlders have informed me they're going to be designing their ships along human lines from now on, so as not to stand out or appear too radical. I assured them that as long as it did the job, we really didn't mind what one of their vessels looked like.
This ship possesses 4 heavy phased plasma cannon, 10 anti fighter ion monopole disruptors, (whatever that is! All I know is it can do a lot of damage), 20 low yield nuclear missiles (in 2 side tubes) and a battery of several "planet buster" nova bombs, for use in situations where the enemy is too well fortified.
This last would have been shown on the underview. Unfortunately, that file was the last to be transmitted and was damaged by subspace interference. We were unable to access it.

And it's just the first of the Rim Worlds expeditionary task Force. I plan on redoing this in plastic after the contest is over, along with the other capital ships I've got planned, all in micro so that I can shoot them together. I should have enough dark gray and red by then. |

Awesome. I like the red additions to it as well as the sloping shape toward the front. -Sam
I got that shape idea from a couple of old warships I saw at one time or another. Y'know, as I look at that overhead shot again, it strikes me how well that front section might look as a separate ship; a destroyer or a frigate. Say, move the guns forward half a length and add a bridge. Change the front sensors a little. I could even leave it in the same scale.
Uh, sorry for rambling. The red signifies that it's a component of the G.A.I.A. fleet.
Also, I had to chop it off for LDD, but the rear section aft of that center side bulge will be as long as the front section when I make it in plastic. The engines will be shaped slightly different also. That version will be the super-dreadnaught. |

Oh yeh, this is a real beast Capital ship. Exactly what GAIA is all about. What a beauty! This could do some real damage. Great shape, great details, great coloring, a great design. |

I kind of wish I was at a base or station and watching this thing approach. Or else standing on that flying bridge and enjoying the view! |

Perfect! What a menacing beast. The pointed wedge shaped front make this ship look fast and the cannons make it look uber deadly! It is also a sweet tribute to old swimming battleships! |

Yes, I do! And I will. I want to work my way up eventually to produce a colony ship, or an L5 habitat. I see the colony ship as being something like 10 feet long and maybe four feet in diameter. The habitat, I see as a variation on the old space wheel concept from 2001; maybe three or four of them linked along a common axis. THAT is gonna be a toughie, but I'm determined to make it work. |

It's not as big as I wanted to make it, though. I was running out of screen room and the details were getting hard to discern, unfortunately. You can probably tell by looking at it that the rear seems chopped off. It is, sad to say. That long side protrusion is supposed to be in the center of the ship, and there were supposed to be SIX large cannon turrets instead of four. But, I will eventually redo it in plastic and I can recitfy it. Of course, it'll be a super-dreadnaught then, with some big guns on the bottom as well. |

That thing's huge and complicated, how you managed to build it on the computer I have no idea. It must of been extremely difficult. |

Thanks. I'm really upset about losing that bottom view, though. For some reason the Mac decided there was an error in the file and refused to open it. The bottom section is actually a duplicated flip of the top hull base. I had a lot of neat bits on there too, like the shuttle bay, the nova bombs, some odd alien greebling. Well, I'm going to try to repeat it by duplicating one of the other views and reworking it. |
