Commonly known as the LAIT, it's nickname is one you would not be happy with if you are a soldier waiting for reinforcements. Based off the clone wars gunship, the LA-AT, this Imperial version has many differences. Due to the rate at which LA-AT's were being shot down, the Imperials decided on a smaller, yet still deadly gunship. Instead of having two cockpits, this new design allowed one. Instead of missles, this gunship relies on lazer blasts to crush opposition. This new ship had one major design flaw however. To make the transport as fast as possible, the LA-IT (Low Altitude Imperial Transport) had no side doors, relying only on the troops magnetic shoes to hold them on. Without side doors, troops were susceptible to small arms fire. If you look closely, you can see this gunship in some versions of the force unleashed.
