This MOC is actually one of the first cars I have ever build. I am working on a new 1:17 scale car carrier truck, and I need some wheels to put on it.
As I am a big fan of racing cars I decided to make a Ferrari F430 in GT version. As a start I looked at the F430 Lego kit to save some time, but I was disappointed by the detail level of that one. I decided to do a bottom off rebuild where basically nothing has remained original besides a couple of parts and stickers.
Having decided that I choose the 2007 AF corse GT2 car from the FIA GT championship as a base for this model, there was a lot of work to do. This included a different engine layout, roll cage, 1 stud widened roofline, racing accessories, and some extra spoilers and a big rearwing. The other thing I wanted where working doors, basically the biggest lack in the original box.
All in all very nice to build something different this time, and it will not be my last one!
I had to looks twice on the builders name... It's realy you?? It's seems so unusual from you. But nevertheless - it looks nice. And I have to agree with comments below - LEGO company would be more sucessful, if they more stuff like your car, but for less money...
