The Railgun Tank is a tank built specifically with BrikWars in mind. Taking inspiration from the Swedish S-Tank and the German Hetzer, this tank originated from a random sketch and actually went through two different designs in 3D, this being the second. It features an elevating/depressing gun, 10-wheel independent torsion bar suspension (details below), and room for two crew plus a third man on the back. This particular tank is decked out in white and green for winter operation (and to allow for distinction between bricks), as are the present infantry and crew. The render isn't my favorite, so I'll be working on fixing that, but it does enough justice for a post. You can find specs and stats and more pictures below if you like. Comments and criticism are welcomed :-), cheers!

Also, gun design by Brickarms, although I went through the trouble of modeling it from a photo, so I'll take most of the credit for that ;-)
About this creation

An overhead view to help give a better idea of the general construction. The first version of this tank was a bit smaller and couldn't accommodate some of the key features I initially wanted, but was almost perfectly to minifig scale. This version is a tad bigger, but is much better for it. If you look closely you can see two hinge pieces on either side of the barrel. These were put in with the intention or making a mine plow/roller for the front - an accessory which I have yet to produce a design for, even though it has little gaming value.

A rear view, offering engine detail. The Railgun tang, or "RG Tank" is primarily a frontal-assault vehicle, having a largely unarmored rear end. I am not an experienced Brikwars player, but i see this as an acceptable loss given the solidity of the other 3 sides and the inherent coolness factor of exposed engines. Note the .50 cal machine gun at the back. This can be used by infantry for additional firepower, and is easily detachable if the player chooses to sacrifice it in lieu of other features (weapons cost points, and there are only so many points to go around).

A side view of the tank without its side skirts. Like German StuGs of WWII, these skirts are for the protection of the wheels ("mobility" in BWars terms), which may render the tank stranded if too many are shot off. The skirts may be detached like the .50 cal if the player has higher priorities than the protection of his/her wheels.

The unsung hero of this design is in the suspension. Any fans of alternative Technic kits like Lego Racers and Star Wars know that in addition to the black axles we all know and love, there are metallic gray rubber rods of similar design. What's going on here is that instead of regular axles running in from the arms, there are cut flexible ones, anchored in cross-patterned Technic bricks. This design shows one axle per wheel, but if this is too stiff in real life, some may be left out and replaced with simple gliding pegs. The whole system is easily contained in a chassis 5 plates high and can theoretically be expanded or adapted to almost any size or purpose. Anyway, that's how the pros do it in many real tanks, so I consider this a logical solution to the crave for suspension :-)

An interior shot with the roof removed. The interior isn't perfect by any means - it's a tight fit and the crew wouldn't actually be able to see out the hatches because they can't "look up," but 3D allows for things that should be possible. Call it artistic license. Anyway, the driver lays prone on the left and the gunner lays on the right (as shown here), each with his own hatch and terminal of controls and the rail gun in between them.

Fantastic work on the tank and on creating your MOCs digitally in general. I started the same way, only using 3D Studio Max at work.
I also want to thank you for pointing out the cuusoo incident. I left that guy a message. |

Oh, thanks a lot for sending links, but program and bricks have same link? I cant find way to add these bricks to LDD... Anyway, thanks for adding links and some sort of help here! :D
Oh, sorry about that. I fixed it I think but here it is anyway: http://sketchup.google.com/download/index2.html
But yeah, sorry if I didn't specify, but these bricks aren't for LDD. You have to open the set in Sketchup and build models there.

This is just great creation!
Is it possieble to put "your LDD" to some place to be downloaded, co i agree with that LDD is not enough. |

You sir are amazing. Not satisfied with LDD? You made your own program. That wasn't enough, you build wonderful creations with it. Great man, just great. |

Something in the lighting looked funny. Thought it might be a 3d model stolen from some game, glanced in, turned out it was a 3d model. Just from a lego CAD program instead of a game. |

Well, the cut soft axles can be replaced with rigid axles, and the troops' guns aren't at all necessary, but apart from that and the treads everything here is legit LEGO, I promise. Was there something in particular that caught your attention?

Well, it's very clever, but I don't really approve of the whole parts cutting thing and the clone brand parts. |
