Part Two

Unable to evacuate the refugees from the former separatist world of Tanneth, Jedi Master Salis has left a small contingent of clones on the planet to protect the refugees from possible separatist activity.

The leader of this contingent, Captain Pit, has dispatched three of his troops to make an assessment of the refugee camp…

Raz: “They call this a refugee camp?

Raz: “Looks more like a core world resort to me.”

Jace: “Welcome to our camp. My name is Jace. We’re so happy that you all finally arrived. Do you know how long it will be until we are relocated?”
Raz: “General Salis was regrettably unable to take you aboard his ship at this time. He sent us to keep an eye on things until he can return. It shouldn’t be more than a few weeks. In the mean time, we’ve been asked to give a full report on the situation here.”
Jace: “Of course. Let me show you around.”

Jace: “Considering the total devastation of the cities, we’ve done quite well for ourselves out here.”

Jace: “We have more than enough supplies to last us the few weeks until your General can return.”

Raz: “Thank you for your time sir. We will report back to Captain Pit on the situation here. Hopefully, we’ll all be on our way soon.”

Jace: “We were just about to have our afternoon meal. Would you and your men like to join us?”
Raz: “Thank you sir. That is very generous of you.”

With Raz and the other troopers overdue, Captain Pit begins to get nervous…

Pit: “What’s taking those slugs so long? They should have been back by now.”
Slammer: “They commed me about 10 mics ago sir. They’ll be here any minute.”

Scatter: “Sorry that took so long sir. We made contact with the refugees and conducted a complete check of the camp. They’ve got enough supplies to easily last them until we get picked up. Everything seems to be in order sir.”
Pit: “I’ll be the judge of that. We’re here to make sure no Separatists take advantage of this situation and that’s what we’re going to do. I want a patrol of that camp twice a day and keep me informed of any changes, no matter how small.”
Scatter: “Yes sir.”

10 days pass without incident. While the troops begin to relax and enjoy the downtime, Captain Pit finds himself more and more on edge and his men are beginning to notice…

Scatter: “I’m not sure what it is, but the Captain seems a little off to me.”
Pickshot: “The ship will be back in a few days to pick us up. We’ll be fine till then.”
Raz: “Let’s just hope the Captain can hold it together that long.”

Pit: “I don’t trust these squatters Slammer. Something about them just isn’t right.”
Slammer: “How so sir?”
Pit: “The patrols are gone far too long when they make their checks of the camp and every time they return, they still report the all clear.”
Slammer: “Maybe sir, it’s because everything IS all clear?”
Pit: “I’m going to check the camp myself. I’ll get to the bottom of this. I’ll take Cypher and Vix with me. Keep the drop zone secure till we get back. ”
Slammer: “Yes sir.”

Captain Pit and his troops make their way to the refugee camp. While the captain is unsure of what he’ll find, he has his suspicions…

Pit: “Keep sharp men. I don’t like the looks of things here.”
Cypher and Vix in unison: “Yes sir.”

Jace: “Captain Pit I presume. Welcome to the camp. I’ve been looking forward to finally meeting you. Please, let me show you around.”

Jace: “As you can see, everything is in order. We’re actually very happy here. Different species all living in harmony…”

Jace: “We’re actually considering coming back after this and setting up a colony here.”

Pit: “Why would you need to establish an outpost here?”
Jace: “An outpost and a colony are two very different things captain. Would you and your men care to join us for dinner?”

Pit: “We’ve seen all we need to see. Cypher, Vix, back to the landing zone.”

Confused, his men follow their captain’s orders. Pit is silent during the hike back. His men can tell something is not quite right.

Captain Pit’s mood is not made any better by what he finds upon his return to the landing zone…

Pit: “What is going on here?”

Pit: “What do you think this is? A vacation?”
Slammer: “Sir, the boys were just relaxing a bit.”

Pit: “We’re on a mission here to stop the Separatists from infiltrating the republic and the refugee camp is overflowing with them!”
Slammer: “Separatists in the camp sir? Are you sure?”
Pit: “Of course I’m sure! Are you questioning me trooper?”
Slammer: “No sir!”

Pit: “Every one of those refugees is a separatist. They try to hide it so well, but I have all the proof I need. They were talking about creating a separatist outpost after they’ve gathered enough intel on Republic evacuation procedures. Suit up troopers. We have some sep scum to clean.”

To be concluded in part three

Fourth Wall Commentary: Gettin good huh? Told ya you wouldn't have to wait long. I'm going to go ahead and spill the beans right now, there's no other actual "builds" that you haven't seen already for part three. Part three will also be the shortest post of the three parts but will close out this little story nicely... Should be out very soon! Till next time true believers!

This just keeps getting better. Nice job. I like the shot under the bridge-- dramatic. Do you take all kinds of shots and edit them down, or just a few select ones? Just curious. You're very good at it.

The storyline continues to be quite good. I really enjoy the background details you have created, the rock wall, the refugee shelters, etc. I was most happy to see Frankenstein’s Monster survived and made it to the camp, even if he did lose part of his head. I am looking forward to part 3, nice work Chris - MB

Very nice. One of the first Star Wars comics in a long time. And the first one I have ever seen without a predictable ending. And the landscape is brilliant and so is the refugee town, each overkilled with immense detail. My one problem is why is a Space Pirate character in a star wars moc? And by reading the title of the comic I can just predict what is going to happen (kinda).

This is also starting to remind me of a short story by Frank Herbert (I think it was). If the surprise ending is similar, I won't reveal the ending here ;)

Great second episode! The build is excellent! But I think Captain Pit should have been a 327th star corps colored clone (one of those yellow striped clones) because shock troopers are only on Coruscant since they're the Coruscant guards... W00T for nerdism! But that shock trooper thing isn't THAT important. ;D

I have to admit, when I saw the swimming, half-naked clones, I thought the lyrics to Kenny Loggins' 'Playing With The Boys' were gonna pop up, followed by a game of beach-volleyball with not-so-subtle 'George Adam Yellow' undertones.(that's cop-talk,folks)LMAO! I guess we need to resign ourselves to the fact that this IS going to be a serious build. Great, here come the night-sweats again!~H

Quoting Master Shifu Leo J It is actually getting a little creepy...
Then it's working.
Quoting robert ball I am now thinking very furiously. Is Pit going off the deep end, or is it really a bunch of separatist spies? These questions are going to keep me baffled until that third episode. I, sir, am in a quandary and enjoying it very much. I know I should be rooting for the seps, but the idea of Pit being the only one to spot the truth, well, that's a good zinger, and no one likes a good zinger more than I.
GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!! Actually, there were three different endings that I shot for this story. Didn't decide which one to use until just about a half hour ago.
Quoting Commander Flare =D Actually, I'm suspecting a punch line at the end... I forsee it...
The force is not strong in this one.
Quoting Dennis Price Hey, you wouldn't be interested in doing the final chapter of Blockocop by any chance, wouldja?
You wouldn't happen to know what size skate Lucifer wears wouldja?
Quoting Jake H. It's nice to see SOMEONE with a quality Star Wars comic.

alright... two gungans, a tusken raider, squidman, and some swamp green guy, maybe slizer? squidward? some batman villian? help me out here. also, maybe it's just me, but I don't think the sepratists would be big on multi-species harmony, if only because the empire wasn't, the seps are only in it for money, and oh yeah! the sepratists exterminated all the gungans with a bio-agent. also, is that all one big set, with the camp on the left and the troopers on the right? you thought you could fool me by having the troopers walk into the camp from the left. shame. what are these people refugees from anyway? and why would the send a distress signal if they're doing fine and are sepratists? i need plot development here!!!

Smokin' build and entertaining story, with some better than average photography (you've come a long ways with the photography). Waiting for more... Lee.
