HODSB-12 "Spade"
This is probably my most difficult moc I've made so far. I was having fun with snot here. This was an organic build, no plan, just stuck things together, until it got to a certain point and then I planned out how to finish it. It took about 10 hours. It is 32 studs long, 38 studs wide and 9 studs tall(~22 layers of boards).
About this creation
Sorry about some of the pics, they're a little blurry.

The Heavy Ordinance Deep Space Bomber mark twelve was designed to deliver heavy payloads to enemy capital ships, under fighter escort. The HODSB-12 earned the nick name "Spade" do to its powerful ability to "dig" through enemy armadas. (Also it kinda looks like a spade from a top down view.)

This picture shows almost all of the HODSB-12's weapon systems. You can see its twin cannons that can fire independently or linked, it's cluster rocket tube for attacking enemy fighters, as well as one of the two launch tubes mounted at the front of the HODSB-12. These launchers can be equipped with nearly any projectile, including its most common weapon, tactile nuclear warheads, used to eliminate enemy cruisers and battleships. Because of the danger of a HODSB-12 being destroyed while carrying such a weapon, they are used sparingly, and escorts are advised to maintain a "safe" distance, although a truly safe distance would make the escorts useless.

The roof has some small pockets of greebling.

Here is one such pocket.

Some pipes that run back to the engines.

I like how the sides turned out, I think they look quite good.

One of two maneuvering thrusters embedded in the main hull.

A rear facing missile to attack pursuers.

Just an overall view of the underbelly.

These last three photos show the AWACS I wanted to include from the beginning, but once the moc was finished, it looked out of place, and I removed it. This was my third attempt at making something that used the AWACS, but each time it doesn't quite fit. Oh well, theres always next time.

As a final note, I'm wondering what you guys think of the AWACS, should it have stayed, or the ship better off without it?

These are my favorite types of builds. Just putting pieces together until you have an idea what it's going to look like, then you have the overall shape forming, then adding loads of detail, then a beautiful creation in front of you. I love the amounts of details on this one! Bravo!!

Hey Aiden! You know, I personally like the A..W..whatever. It's kind of like the big dish thingy on the Millenium Falcon - it adds more of a realistic aspect to it. People like George Lucas and James Cameron always had things on thier spacecraft that were weird at first but then it was like, 'oh yeah, I like that. It makes it more believable.' Anyway, great ship and great design.

Knock yourself out, the shape was kinda tricky, but I'm sure you'll figure it out.

The way you feel about APC is the way i feel about bombers and transport ships. This is a great build. I really like the lines and the seperation of the engines to the rest of the ship.

So you point me in your direction and I found this one. It's great with all those details which usually cost that many time. But I know you are into details ;-) and the result is stunning. Keep up the good work!

A ship of my liking: bulky, powerful and yet somewhat sleek... And you should definately keep the AWACS!

Hey, it does look like a spade! I like the end of it the most since it looks like a cool, clean job and the fact when I try to do it it look more like a block.

What a massive bomber, but with a graceful touch. The sleek connection to the engine compartment aerates the ship´s look very well. Cool and well detailed creation!

Well Aidan, this is an incredible build. The shape, coloring, and details are terrific! As far as the AWACS, it looks really good...but truthfully, the MOC doesn't need it. We think it distracts the eye's focus on some of the other details. Not to mention that an exterior AWACS would seem a bit out of date on a craft like this. We're very impressed with it!!

Extremely good job here. Nothing looks out of place, everything fits just fine! I like the semi-sectioned engines, adds a nice touch. Keep it up!

Thanks, yeah the AWACS is probably too dated to fit, and I loved your "Star Trek: Changeling" comic, you nailed that episode, I should know, I just saw it on TV a couple weeks ago.

Thanks, I forgot to ask people what they thought of the AWACS, do you mind giving me your thoughts on it? Was I right to remove it, or does it fit fine?
