"Oh, you mean Land Monster!"
About this creation
A long, long time ago, when I was still handsome and innocent and had soft, mouse-brown hair on my head, a nobleman from across the pond, Shannon Young esq., requested that I build a wombat mech for my Australian Army Mecha collection. "Hah!" I exclaimed, "foolish American; little do you know that wombats are THE MOST BORING CREATURES EVER!" (Seriously, of all the Australian animals to request, why a wombat? It's like a big fat furry log!?)
Anyway, long story short, I finally got up the courage to build one. I had a bit of trouble at first, but had a breakthrough after realising I should fuse the head to the body. This APC has extra thick armour plating and is quite slow. But when attacking, it fires it's rear rocket packs and *ffffzzzooooommmm!* charges through enemy defensive to deploy it's troops. (Note: Real wombats are prone to charging at you. It's usually best to run away; you WILL come off second best in a fight with one of these bastards!)

An early body design. A really liked using the engine pieces here but I ran out of long slope too quickly this way, so I decided to try something boxier. Afterall, APC are known for their boxiness...right...?

Combat Wombat ahahaha! Went to Australia '95 to visit family, I remember (along with most Australians we encountered dislike for us Brits) meeting a juvenile one of these guys. The zoo lady mentioned they weren't the friendliest of creatures when they got older. Captures the feel of a wombat really well and like the fact it's an APC. |

"Combat Wombat" huh? Ok, do a transformer mech next and call it the Switharoo Kangaroo... oh oh oh, his weapons of choice is the Didgeridoo! And the pilot's name can be Stu! Ok, I'll stop now before you say "F.U.". Brilliant build as always my friend! ~ Chris. |

Cute !!! I like how you made mouth and eyes. No, I won't write anything about the purpose of that ramp, would be too dirty ;-)

It reminds me of a Half-Life Houndeye, love its boxyness. Could also something ludgonian: big, white and boxy. I can almost hear it stomping on the battlefield. "Watch out, or it will get you squished! - Or shot!" |
