The Diver And The Treasure Chest
The Find of a Life Time
About this creation
"You found something, didn't ya? Captain Logan called down to the diver, Dan Kilroy. Kilroy looked up at the bridge and smiled.

"Sure did," he laughed, "A big old chest. I didn't try to open it, just put the net around it."

He looked back at the surface of the water as the chest came slowly up out of the water. Logan frowned; the chest was wooden, but it looked as though it hadn't been more than an hour in the water. He thought for an instant of a possible hoax, but no. They had been here that long, getting set up.

The crew swung the winch around when the chest was high enough and the operator eased it slowly down onto the deck of the Mary Ellen. Logan hurried down to the deck as Kilroy unfastened the net and pushed it aside.

"Well, what are ya waitin' for?" Logan sapped impatiently, "Open 'er up. Let's see what we got!"

Kilroy did so, using a bar to pry up the lid. Two of the others lifted it off and the group found themselves staring down at what appeared to be a statue of a young woman, silvery in appearance, clad in a toga like garment of shimmering blue material.

"She looks real enough to be - well, real!" one of them men muttered and Logan spared him a brief glance.

"Don't go getting hinky on me, Trout!" he snapped, "Couple of you see if you can lift her out there and stand her upright! If that's not silver, I don't know what is!"

"Silver would tarnish." said Kilroy and Logan frowned at him, "Any metal would. I don't know what she's made of, but it's certainly nothing WE know.

Logan frowned and turned back as three of the men bent down to lift the statue out of the chest. One of them suddenly gave a cry of frightened surprise and all three jumped back. Logan and Kilroy both stared down at the statue in shock.

Her eyes - a deep, shining violet, had opened and she was smiling up at them all......

Quoting Jake H. The collection of multi colored dots look a bit odd...
There's an explanation coming for them.

Quoting Mister Bones Very nice, well designed and nice use of pieces.
Thank you. I would have liked it to show up better that the diver was swimming above the chest, but most of the details would have been less apparent. Anyway, I had to put something out, until Ol' Bill shows up again and I can use HIM! There's a 99% chance that this story line will continue.
