Desert Assault Walker
A mech used in desert warfare. Various types of weaponry and a massive engine to output large amounts of power.
About this creation
Hey legoers, this is the first decent mech that i have made. I didn't know what to call it so it got its name from its sandy color scheme. Enjoy :)

I didn't really have any major inspirations, i just starting throwing pieces together.

The pink is for my amazing girlfriend :)
Why is she dating a guy that plays with legos? ill never know....

Outised of leg on left, inside of leg on right.

View of the open cockpit. 2 pilots were required because of the large number of controls required to allow the mech to fully function. Those controls can be seen below.
Also it is very important that all trained pilots have mustaches.

However, there aren't any cup holders :(

I was actually pretty happy with how the engine turned out considering i used pretty basic pieces that i usually don't use for engine-like parts.

Ok so the weapons...

Shoulder mounted turrets. They rotate about 270 degrees (would be 360 degrees but the mech body gets in the way) around and can rotate up almost 90 degrees.

Gatling gun used for quick fire, this view is from above.

Gatling gun from below.

And now for the best part... in case of strong aerial assaults the turrets might not be enough...

Missile launch bay elevates out of body!! Below are all views of the same thing.

I forgot to take a picture of the cannons on either side of the cockpit, but you can see them in other pictures.

And finally a battle droid for scale.

I hoped you enjoyed my mech!! This is my second post so please leave some comments, i enjoy criticism just don't be too harsh.
Thanks for looking!

I'm no expert on mechs, but from what I've browsed, this has a refreshing, different feel. And it works well for me. I'm not experienced enough to identify why.

Generally impressive; good job with the flip up missile tubes. (Just hope they don't go off before they're flipped up!)

great hulky looking mech! Two pilots,... now that's something new I haven't seen before. Makes perfect sense though, attach helicopters always have a pilot and a gunner. Nice color scheme too, and shouldn't most military weaponry be desert-themed nowadays anyway... at least until the oil runs out!

Love the double canopy, though it did initially make me think of a trainer mech of some kind (2 sets of controls the way some drivers ed. cars have another steering wheel and such). The engine/reactor on the back is simple, yet perfect. It doesn't look overly complicated, and something for desert service needs to be easier to maintain.

love the dual "coque"pit thing going on. i always forget what a cool colour tan is to build with (working on something tan atm) the hidden missile launch bay is neat, too. the pink... is cool, if a little bit misplaced in this particular mech, but alas that's love (not that i would know *chortle* *chortle* *sigh*)
