So, after building and tearing apart 3 mocs, I came to this: my 1st MOC of 2010! The DA-68 Dark August-IMAL: Tear-or! This theme has been dying, but a few builders have been keeping it alive like Jason Corlett (thanks, guys)! I hope to inspire some people to build with this. The DA-68 is the first DA unit to be made with a combination of animal DNA and the techno-DNA of all DA units. Dark Augusto began to lose the battle against the organics. They realized that their fighting tactics were too logical and calculated. The humans fight with passion and don't always "follow the rules". This was the idea behind the Dark August-IMAL line. The first in the line, Tear-or relies on instinct and animal rage to literally tear through it's prey!

i know i will seem like an idiot now, but what is Dark Augusto (my life is centered on 3 things, maybe 4 StarCraft 2, legos, reading, and Battlestar Galactica) and nice robot-mech-animal hybrid thing |

Awesome moc! I really like the Krill idea. The fact that they can absorb any material will make them very difficult for the DA to beat. I'd like to see some separate pics of the DA mech and the Krill. Does this mean you will help with the theme? |

I don't know if you saw my other comment, but you can tell me what you would like your character to look like in the Assassin Group- be specific as you want. |

Did you ever think about writing soundtracks for your own MOCs?
Well, I've written "imaginary" sountracks before. I would have to build something EPIC to write a soundtrack for it, because I put alot of work into my music (as well as everything else). Have you heard my band page? |

Thanks! I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "angled plates to comprise the structural integrity". I know, that I tried to follow the anatomy of the human torso with the midsection, so...
What I meant was, if you use SNOT to make the torso, would that make the model too weak to hold itself up?
Oh..I gotcha. It probably would be too weak. This thing barely stood as is:)

Very nice design! I especially like the head and the usage of blade pieces, which are maybe not easy to integrate (but you did perfectly!). If it's a combination of robot and some animal, it may could be a little more "organic". Anyway, good job! |

Animal DNA and DA...DNA mixed together?! Genius! I'm have to build something for this line of DA, if that's alright with you of coarse :)
Thanks! Please do! I'm hoping this new idea will inspire some builders to do some DA stuff. |

I'd hate to go up against him, with all those blades... The hands/claws are stellar. Simply executed but strikingly effective. The pose in the main pic is awesome and fear-inspiring. The only little nitpick I have is the bottom up construction of the torso. Is it possible to build it with angled plates compromise the structural integrity? Of course, that's just one nitpick in an overall very good MOC.

Amazing addition to the D.A. theme! I really like the arm blades and bone missiles, although i have never seen such a lego piece, which set is that from?
Thanks! The arm blades are from the SW assassin droid BP. The "missiles" are from many different sets. |
