Welcome to the Granfaloon. Take some 10 minutes to take a tour of a Galamoth class Industrial Battleship. (warning: seriously long page)
About this creation
GCS 04 - "Granfaloon" Industrial Battleship.
Galamoth class Battleships are battle refits of the Galamoth Admin Carrier, and they form the core of the ArcheoGenis forces, being at the same time battle ships, mobile bases, mining colonies and production sites.
7 Km long, they have 3 command decks: the Cruise Bridge, the Battle Bridge (deep inside the hull) and the Administration Center (reserve bridge).
We're taking a peek at the Cruise Bridge, since it's the most used, and one of the most active parts of the Granfaloon.
(The main bridge is nearly 100 meters long, so I hope you don't mind if I only present a section of it)
This is the core of most ship's operations, the Granfaloon's main EAP interface is there, as well as the Captain, and many officers, artificial humans, drones and security guards.
"Hi everyone!"
Due to the EAP's efficiency, most people on board call these folks "the RCP" (Redundant Command Personnel) behind their backs.
Psychic details are always present to protect the bridge, operate the Psi-Array or Perception Drive, or... ehm... socialize. Here we see a cute Psi-Op hooking up with a 2nd generation psychic.
The "Rail Chair" was designed by the Galamoth's EAP to reduce the captain's stress by giving him some illusion of control over a ship 3 to 5 time smarter than a human.
It allows the Captain to roam the bridge freely and it also slides directly down to the Battle Bridge.
Top view. (In sci-fi, I really like irregular, monochrome tiling. It gives the impression of some kind of circuitry running beneath)
The Granfaloon is also a production site for ArcheoGenis' BioMechanical wargear.
The Serial Cloning Facilities produce Ancient stem cells to create BioMechs.
Unlike in the traditional Cloning Pits, the parts are not cloned freely: they are poured into a cast, thus cutting the cloning time from weeks down to mere hours for each part.
The monorail then carries the cast to a storing area, then to the assemling workshops.
"Casted" parts are weaker than the freely cloned ones, and they regenerate more slowly, but they allow a level of mass production unthinkable with the other method, which is only used to create elite models like the Rig Veda or the older Indra.
"Queen" class BioMechs then assemble all parts quickly and efficiently, and send them on their way.
Queens are integrated in the ship's structure, they feature 6 hands and 2 "joint welders". These are micro-injectors spraying an unidentified variety of core cells that seem to slide on one another allowing the parts to move.
The Percepion Drive is a huge device, occupying 30% of the ship's length.
As you may know, it bends quantum physics to provide the ship with gravity, it can be used for instant relocation, and it can provide the ship with near invulnerability, for a time.
The PD can be ONLY engaged the moment ALL personnel on board percieves a determined ship status as true.
To do so, each person on board undergoes extensive training and periodic drills.
Even so, with guests, noobs, business delegations and yes, even tourists, there are always about 50 to 100 untrained people on board, each one of those being enough to prevent the PD from functioning.
So, at every deck throughout the ship, hundreds of these emergency stasys chambers are placed to deal with the problem.
Untrained personnel is shut tight inside and put into stasys, taking them out of the equation.
Then, the PG can be correctly operated. The Psi-Ops coordinate the minds of all others, and VOILA :)
And now, the most powerful known technological weapon: the Fake Singularity Gun (FSG).
It fires a small black hole toward enemy formations, annihilating them before the singularity evaporates.
Despite the name, the FSG fires an ACTUAL singularity, so its use has been forbidden by AG command in the vicinity of any mass big enough to make it permanent, especially inside star systems.
But then, why the name FSG?
(In these pics, you can see the Granfaloon holding other ships in its hands, ready to dock them)
[Top Secret]
Ok, here's the cool part: the FSG is nothing but a bunch of LARGE tubes and shiny lights.
The massive public campaign ArcheoGenis put up about the new weapon simply convinced people that it works, so the Perception Drive can engage and MAKE IT FIRE FOR REAL!
Of couse, the "Elite Technicians" assigned to the FSG must be put in stasis beforehand.
The hangar behind the FSG
The Granfaloon is armed with 8 Stream Cannons, 16 lazer turrets, 16 artillery turrets, 1 quad turbolaser, 2 double disruptor turret. Oh, and I forgot the 4 75mt long interplanetary warheads :)
Detail of the weaponry. The Granfaloon and the other battleships, unlike the Galamoth, feature better sub-light enginesto be able to maneuvre more efficiently in battle.
Meet the crew!
These are the typical people you can meet on board a ArcheoGenis GCS Galamoth class ship.
Operations crew
1- MAOX "Pinocchio" drone 2- AG Worker 3- AG technician/engineer 4- AG Chief
Scientific crew
1- AG Artificial Human 2, 3- AG Science Officers 4- AG Medical Officer
Military
1- MAOX Security/Infantry 2- MAOX Secret Service/Infiltrator 3- AG Psi-Op 4- AG Generation 2 Psi-Op
Space Forces
1- MAOX Astronaut/Pilot 2- AG Officer 3- AG Captain (The Agents' uniforms are perfect for anything starting with an A)
Tourist. (Love this guy, I found it in the Agent's giant robot :D)
Note #1: The Granfaloon is simply a refit of my Galamoth, I did it just before dismantling it. In the future, I might post the interiors of all my nanoscale ships, to make the refits more interesting.
Note #2: The name "Granfaloon" comes from another boss in Castlevania: Symphony of the night.
Note #3: The COOL space background is an early digital work by Inga Nielsen
NOTE #4: This class of ships has been resized to accomodate plot needs in Christian Schlichting's series UMRC Project.
-WHEW- This was a BIG page!
I hope you took the time to read it, comments are welcome!
(more notes will posted as they come to mind)
interesting idea here, ive never seen anything like this, little snippets of the ship here and there, its great! i like the command/deck thingy especially, how did you do that rail chair? i can only get rails to go one way, fantastic job!
Very impressive creation. The design knocks me out. I enjoyed the tour of the vessel and I like that PD Drive concept. I'm trying to visualize the "Big E" next to this planetoid size craft, and it's not easy. I keep thinking of chihuahuas and elephants! My best calculations show nearly 18 Enterprises, end to end. Big. Big ship. Very big ship. Nothing at all comparable in any of my space scenarios.

the single green stud pieces stacked to curve, i used the same technique with orange to make it look like the cannon is ejecting a spent shell.
... it's a pair of green hoses...

I thought I had a lot of black...
Although black is about 50% of my total collection, said collection is very limited. Each set was built with the scraps of the previous one.
Ok, I almost nodded off a couple times, but thankfully my face hitting the keyboard woke me up! This makes 'War and Peace' look like a novella! All kidding aside, I like that you put it all together in one HUGE MOC, it really make us feel inferior, I mean I thought I had a lot of black...Sorry, I guess the jokes have a mind of their own. Chris is right once again, it's nice to find someone with the imagination for original sci-fi. Great work and MOCy Festivus!~H

Awsome I love the mix of green and black. just so cool even the you posted this thin a million times.
Yeah? I was pretty sure there were 5 MOCs I never posted before, in this page... (and the ship itself is a "refit", meanining the structure is the same, but the detailing is different)
I like it

Awsome I love the mix of green and black. just so cool even the you posted this thin a million times.
i love the galamoth and this just makes it more awesome. i spent an hour today making a mechanical turtle with a cannon on its back. not sure when i can post it. i brought this up because of the cloning chamber pic. the single green stud pieces stacked to curve, i used the same technique with orange to make it look like the cannon is ejecting a spent shell.

So that's what it looks like in the Granfaloon! The build is amazing, and I love how the Perception Drive powers the gun! Also, if the Drive powers the Gravity, are the non-psychics only allowed out when the Granfaloon's not in space? =)
Galamoth class spaceships are spawned in low gravity moons or asteroids and never land again. The PD provides gravity only because mankind, for its nature, shares a preconcept of what's "up" and what's "down", so it can enforce this common viewpoint on reality.

the bridge and Queen are best! very original, not to mention functional.

The Queen biomech is a very cool idea and construction and love the idea of the FSG.
Quoting Luke Chapman
The wall mech-y thing and the moving chair with the intersection-y thing are my two favourite features
Quoting Gringat and Xalos
Just the Queen Mech was enough to get 5 smileys from me.

The Queen was genius!

It's hard to pick a favorite part, but the Queen would probably be mine.
It seems most people liked the Queen very much. You know, I was that close to posting it as a stand-alone MOC. But it would have been only an ordinarily awesome MOC. I went with overkill here :)
Sorry I'm late on my comment, work got in the way last night... don't these people know I'm trying to have a social life? ANYWAY, I love all the interiors you did here! One of my favs has to be the cloning tank area. The multi level concept really grabbed me there. And of course I've been telling you how cool I think your idea for the perception drive and weapons are. Not very often you come across an original idea in sci-fi but you pulled it off nicely! Thanks for sharing and keep em coming! ~ Chris.
Excellent. I love all the thought you put into this thing. It's hard to pick a favorite part, but the Queen would probablt be mine. Great build and story.
The interiors are great, the queen curious but funny and the ship very well. Like also your minifigs. Maybe i'll ask one day to use one of the ships pictures, copy it hudnred times and use in my comic; a scene with a whole fleet of this would look so cool. But anyway, ther're no fleet fights planned yet. Not yet. But maybe you could post a space battle with miniscaled ships.
Just the Queen Mech was enough to get 5 smileys from me. I'm deliberately having to ignore the other stuff for now, just to stop my brain exploding from the sheer brilliance of it all! That would be messy...
Just too cool! The wall mech-y thing and the moving chair with the intersection-y thing are my two favourite features, but it's all great. Love interiors and loving the mix of scales.

0.o It is huge i love the detail and the little vigs. but could i get some greebling tips.
Where did you see greebles in my stuff? I don't like greebling, never did. The Space Shuttles work perfectly fine without greebles, and did you ever see a fighter with exposed greebles? It would be fairly unwise to expose fundamental parts of your tech to external agents, don't you think?

you were very realistic, not saying that it has like...2 billion kilometers length xD
Yeah, that king of stuff makes me skip commenting on half the nanoscale ships I see... those should at least look like they COULD be that big :)
Very clever use of scale for your behind the scenes tour Yuri. The Queen biomech is a very cool idea and construction and love the idea of the FSG. And that tourist is very cool, a large reason for that Agents set being on my xmas list! Great stuff.
awesome job, its truly incredible to see a ship has the Granfaloon, but from the inside out! the bridge and Queen are best! very original, not to mention functional. also, you were very realistic, not saying that it has like...2 billion kilometers length xD, keep it up Yuri, your stuff just keeps getting better and better!
Wow, this is a GIANT moc... A great collection of vignettes, story detail, design, and a ship! This is like my favorite of all of your mocs, because I love micro ships. If I had enough pieces, I'd build a ship, but alas, I can only build a small town with a palace at the center. Anyways happy ChristMocs!
I took the ten minutes to read through this entire page and look at every detail of every picture and boy am i glad i did! THIS THING IS AWESOME! The ship looks incredible by it's self but you went the extra mile and build large scale sections of all the different parts of the ship! I'd love to say i'm speachless right now but judging from this fairly long comment, i'm obviously not!
