About this creation
Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Grandsport
This Supercar is the continuation and finishing of a project Technic Supercar 2009:
http://www.mocpages.com/moc.php/145792
First a few pictures of the real Veyron
And now a few pictures of my MOC:
The car maintains its proportions in length, width height, wheelbase, length of the hood and several more to give it shape. The approximate scale is 1:8.
The doors open manually, but have a little lock so they don't open by themselves. To open them you simply pull them up slightly.
Additionally, in this picture you can see that in front of the co-pilot's seat there is a little red lever to open the hood
In addition to the PF mechanisms of the previous article, there are another two. One of them is the roof. I know that in the real model the roof has to be removed and re`placed manually, and must be stored separately, but I have managed to make it so that it folds and is hidden inside the car.
As can be seen in the picture, part of the roof and the air intakes are lifted to let the "soft top" pass and immediately after go back to their initial position.
Since each PF receiver can control 2 motors independently, why waste this connector? So I used it for another one of the characteristic elements of the car, its foldable aileron with variable inclination. Here, in order to be able to lift and tilt the aileron with the same motor, I have built it so that first the aileron is lifted and after that tilted. In this way it is lifted straight and then tilted according to your liking with the same movement
A picture of the sequence:
Also, the aileron hides one of my favourite mechanisms in this car: if while the aileron goes up you use the brakes, the aileron is suddenly inclined forwards, converting it into a flap (like the brakes on a plane) in order to help brake the car, just like the original Veyron

The best video from my Veyron, filmed and upload by Conchas(thank you :))
One more demostration in this video at time 0m 45s.

Bravo!!! how can you do all those features (spoiler and front brakes are the most impressive) and still maintain the proportions. Did you made it on computer first?
In big technic MOCs you can't made it in computer first, because you can't calculate de forces and the stiffness of the structure, and some mechanism is the same.

W-O-W! I've been a car fanatic for 13 years and this is outstanding, you included every little bit of the bugatti, oh, did you have 10 radiators in there? Just kidding! :P Popup spoiler, convertible roof and 7 gears, plus it looks just like the bugatti, does it get any better than this? Anyway, I can see you are experienced, would you mind giving me some tips on getting started in a creative lego enivronment?
WOW! This is the best Technic creation I have ever seen!
I am building a similar one, with another battery box, colour scheme and Rc buggy motor although I am having some trouble with building the spoiler, and the mechanism which connects it to the brakes,
I don't suppose that you could post another photo of this area, with the mechanism exposed, without body work on brickshelf or mocpages?
Wow that's amazing but what sets are needed and could you check out my supercar in progress because I would like to here an opinion from a professional
Just one question, what sets did you use to make this?
Okay, maybe two: do you still have this car in one piece? If so, would it be possible to make a replica? I could imagine this being auctioned on Ebay and the bidding price going up to like $1000 lol. But in all seriousness, you could get someone who knows Lego Digital Designer to translate the model into a PDF/CD/hardback instruction booklet and have that sold on Ebay, that's what one guy I saw doing there with a Lamborghini Countach:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lego-Technic-Custom-Lamborghini-Countach-Instructions-/190507657387#ht_2195wt_1139
With that you could probably use the money made to buy more LT sets and create even more decent supercars to show!
Just imagine though, probably in 50, maybe 100 years, stuff like these would literally be classic, ultra-rare, antique items (unless of course 3D printing takes on and we can design and print our own LT parts :D)
I'm absolutely flabbergasted!
Seven-speed-sequential-gearbox??? Wow!!!
I managed to turn the standard 5 speed H-box into a transaxle one and thought that was pretty good- but this is off the roof!
Also like the brakes!
Can't wait to see your next build!
this is one of the best cars ive ever seen on mocpages.Did you use a williams f1 set for the body? Also, how much did all of the power functions cost? great Moc.
Thee one thing i don't get about it is how did you make the convertible top and the spoiler the work you put into it was amazing and confusing to figure out
I like it

I love this! It is simply amazing! I've already built the gearbox and i now really want to build the hole car, would there be any chance of you posting instructions for the car??
Sorry but I have no time to make the instructions because now I'm developing a new MOC.

This is great! How have I missed this?? One of the best technic cars on MOCpages.. I particularly like the operation of the aileron by the brakes.. nice work.
is it on the market? i really want one, just beautiful the detail and also the gearbox, 4WD and Breaks couldn't ask for more, only how long does it take and you will need to replace the batteries? in the real car the tires are gone in 15 min but that doesn't matter because the fueltank is empty in at least 12 min xD but you must send the design to the market, and maybe the Bugatti corp could help you! and if you need help to put the car on a building instructions! I would love to help :D
PS: and if you won't want to! would you then say which part code and how manny? i had done this a long time ago but pict it up on de days before and then i fell in love at your Bugatti :D incredible
I really couldn't sleep properly after seeing this....
IT'S TOO INCREDIBLE MAN~!!!!!
THIS SHOULD BE MADE INTO A LEGO TECHNIC CONSTRUCTION SET AND MADE AVAILABLE TO EVERY LEGO STORE OUTLET!!
:D :D :D :D

Amazing! especially the gearbox and the brakes. It was so good I made me want to make a car with a bunch of features like that. Im building an audi R8. with working brakes, clutch and throttle. This veyron inspired me to take my cars to the next level
I am happy to have inspired other builders to introduce new mechanisms and functions in their creations

Wow.
Awesome.
When I was a child, I always admired the 8880 supercar. And this is exactly what that should have evolved to by now.
In fact, I think I'd pay for even just the instructions alone.
And if I could buy it in a box, all pieces (incl. PF) and printed instructions... well, then I wouldn't think twice :)
Superb MOC! Congratz on winning the MDM on the HispaLUG forum and being the main feature story in the Hispabrick magazine 007, and for being blogged by the BB. -And thanks for sharing and explaining so openly all the technical construction details. Olé!

This is magnificent! PF's are amazing! Concerning that, could you by any chance tell me how on earth did you do those gears and do they work when the vehicle is in movement? If so could you by any chance give me the instructions on how to build something like that?
Thanks to all for the commentaries!!!
I do not have instructions for the car but I was posting step by step instructions for the gearbox, you can view it in my homepage.
That is the most impressive LEGO car I've ever seen. I can only begin to imagine the challenges of building a functional gearbox. You've managed to do that and build a great looking car with many more excellent features. What a great build!

Yep! I saw it before as the others did too...but this baby breaks some fat.
This is the real stuff. This Bugatti scale model is the best measured one, according to a real Bugatti Veyron car.
Thanks for inspiring me and others!
Fantastic! I´m not really into cars, but this is so awesome! You absolutely got the shape, people are always trying to build this bugatti out of system, but they just fail. So an amazing build, great job! Check out some of my stuff :)
