The Panzer III was designed as a main battle tank, and originaly mounted the 1.5 inch cannon. Commanding generals, however, wanted a more powerful 2 inch KwK cannon, which was eventualy mounted. The models A through D were made to test different kinds of running gear, and in the Ausf. E the Panzer III took on its traditional look with six medium wheels. It continualy suffered from being underarmed, and although it was eventualy upgraded all the way to a 3 inch L/24 cannon, it could not compare to the simial Panzer IV. The space of the turret prevented it from mounting the long barrel 3 inch KwK cannon, and form 1942 it was no longer a match against the Russian T-34. It was a foward looking design however, and was used both by the Germans and the Russians as an assualt gun chasis. Perhaps thats part of the reason I made this, so I could have the chasis for a Stug. I enjoyed building this and although as I post it now I realize many detials are off, (due probably to lack of research) I would say this is probably the best tank I've posted so far.
