Trouble at Port Hardale
"It's in the photograph..."
About this creation
More rugged than a classic northwest End Session, sneakier than a pair of All Stars, and gayer than Michal Jackson in a pink tuxedo, the dreaded Sea Bandit is the terror of all ports for miles around, his long dagger striking fear into the hearts of all. Literally.

Speaking of gay, I saw the trailer for New Moon. Whatever happened to scary Vampires? Is it hip and modern to make your blood-sucking monsters sparkle? Come on!

I mean, it makes you wonder what the producer/director's thought process was...

"Remember, this is an evil vampire. We definitely want this guy to be buff. Really buff. Oh, and throw some glitter on that bad boy. Everybody likes some good glitter."

And then you wonder how much the entire cast got paid. My life probably costs as much as their car.

I suppose they do include Werewolves, which gives them five cool points (resurrecting them from a former negative eighty). Sure, they ain't a bunch of Tom Mitchell's, but with CG these days I'm sure they can make some kewl shaggy dogs.

Well, I guess the makers of Narnia failed pretty bad in that area...CG or no CG.

Changing the subject here: originally I wasn't going to post this at all; but thanks to the prodding of a good friend...here it is. Any constructive criticism welcome.

So yeah. That's pretty much it.

Now as the great Keith Goldman says...get some sleep!

(And then go watch Twilight!!)

Very nice. Especially the "Port" style to it. I would've liked to see a bit more figs as ports are usually bustling with activity but to fit with your story its good. Better than good.

Some interesting techniques. I especially like the single layer of tiles for the boardwalk, certainly gives it a rough-hewn look. Lee.

Quoting Ian Cotter (Formerly LoVeR HaTeR) Ok New Moon is based on a book. A bad book but a book nonetheless.
Yeah, before either of the movies came out I had the opportunity to witness first hand the inexcusable literary fail that was Twilight. It's almost gross. (Of course, that is as opposed to Tolkien, Bronte, and the likes. She did after all get published and filthy rich for those things.)

Excellent. There are many details, my favourite is how the dock was made uneven. It looks worn that way.

Ok New Moon is based on a book. A bad book but a book nonetheless. Stephenie Meyer made the vampires sparkle. Not the director of the movie. But nice moc.

Sorry I'm late with my review. I checked this out the other day but ran out of time to leave a comment. I love all the realistic features on this moc, especially the wooden dock and stonework. I see you threw in your nest technique again! Great build!

UGH! Hate Twighlight! Well I shouldn't say that, I hate the obsession around it, I haven't read the books or seen the movies, so I can't say I hate them. Just the obsession. Oh yeah! And the MOC, I like it! The architecture is nice. Ok. =)

If they roll them in glitter, it can only be an attempt to disguise the fact that these dudes are absolutely butt-ugly. This is what passes for teen heartthrobs nowadays? Youch.

A solid build, JD. Maybe it's time for you to take the reigns on the whole vampire thing with your Lego habit. Just a thought. Bring us all back to sanity with a nice epic looking castle MOC, some Nosferatu-esque, blood-swilling vamps, dead bodies, and the smell of fear!

Very nice build there! It captured the medieval style beautifully, yet to me is a very 'clean' build'. Good, good. I must say I'm more of a Buffy fan myself, for various reasons ;)

@ Heath: "Go cap yourself" is a saying made famous by the one and only Keith Goldman. I'm pretty sure David was just continuing with the commentary stylings there. JD: Ever since "Interview" came out back in the 90's (a great movie mind you but still...) everyone has been leaning towards the "glitter" version of vamps. Personally, I like the ones from "Near Dark." Now THERE was a vampire flick! And for some good werewolf action, check out "Dog Soldiers." The story's a little "iffy" but the wolfed out gore is top notch! Oh yeah, the moc... EXCELLENT as always! Now, go grab a bowl of paste and have at it! ~ Chris.

Everywhere I look I find more rants (Or praise) for "Twilight" and now I can't even look at the build I suggested you finish without getting the same curtsey... *bleep*! What I would comment on I told you in person, so I'll leave this comment the way it is...

I'm reaching for the remote.... But recoiling as I realize I don't like Twilight. Great creation.

Just a tad bit harsh there David. I'm assuming it's because of the commentary? Excellent build JD! This would easily go with the medieval marketplace as you've captured that look dead on. As far as bagging on "gray" vampires....some people might find that a bit derogatory (like David I believe). I do agree that the Twilight stuff is a bit too girlie for my tastes though.

Looks great. Nice and simple. Buildings, water, guys, stabbin', all the things men like. I don't think you should worry about Twilight. It's something for the ladies. They like all those hunky vampires. I did see the trailer for Twilight. I did have to laugh when I saw the scene where the werewolf changed as he's leaping toward the camera. He morphs into a werewolf, and boom, his clothes just seemed to shred and fly away from his body like they were blasted off. That was a hoot. see ya. garth

Jeez, I want those doors and windows! Unfortunately the nearest place I could probably find them is Toys R Us down in Hayward, which for me is about a million miles away. Or might as well be! Anyway, your Moc is, as usual, very inspiring.
