I have finally finished my entry for the diorama category in Yuri Fassio's, Santa's little helper contest. I really wanted to build an entry for the diorama category but there were a couple things keeping me away from it. The first was a seriously small collection of roof slopes. I ended up buying the 4996 beach house to build the roof. The second reason was that i didn't have a santa or any elves. So, i made my own santa and used random minifig parts for the elves. In the end, i think it turned out fairly well.

A message to whoever judges this... Do NOT mark him down for the beard thing. That was pretty ingenious if I do say so myself (and I just did). Jason, you got my workshop beat by a long shot! Of course, mine was first a moc to be donated to charity so my parts usage wasn't what it could have been, but STILL! Even if I put full effort into a build, I think you would have stomped mine. This is great and best of luck to you in the contest! ~ Chris. |

Excellent details! I really enjoy the fact that you didn't let not having all of the pieces stop you from giving it a shot! But I'm glad that you'll be getting the beard to avoid any frowning from the judges! |

Quoting Yuri Fassio
Wow. I don't know how to say this... this is an incredible build, far beyond my skills... but I need to warn you: judges have a tendency to be "purists" and that non-LEGO beard could cost you.
Right after I posted this I decided to order the beard off of pick a brick. Hopefully I get it before the deadline. |

I love the whole thing. Too bad about the beard though... i'm sure you could've gotten 1 on bricklink.... |
