Monkeys in Our Lives: Hold-Up
Monkeys in Our Lives. A new hit television series brought to you by Vision Publishers.
About this creation

Gangsta Monkeys hate convience stores too. Here we have Greg and Craig the gangstas holding up a gas station. Obviously, the care-taker is not too smart or he would have realised banana guns only shoot once. Or twice. Occasionaly three times.

Frank(remember him?) is the care-taker who hurriedly emptied his pockets and the cash register of all their valuables. Can't imagine why any chimp/chump would want a Spanish piece-o'-eight and a coupon to Cheeseburger Bobby's but we may never understand Frank's demented mind.

Over there along the wall you can see the luscious and artery-clogging trademarks of America. Twinkys, in all their fatty glory, Wafers with those creamy, cholesterol immersed insides, and of course the famous white and black chocolate bars. I drool just thinking about them...and my arteries cringe in fear.

The Twinky bar once again. Shelf upon shelf, row upon row....

The Slushie bar. The man filling his SlushCup is wondering if the robbers might happen to drop some change. Might actually pay for his fortyieth slushie.

The coolers in the back. Every popular flavor from the 2000's

Hmmm...what will he do with that turkey leg? *Thwunk* "Aigh! No, I don't where Cheeseburger Bobby's is located! Aigh!" *Thwunk*

The overhead.

The lovely cash register. Even has some flowers from the dog's funeral. (Reference to another Frank vignette: Get Off My Lawn!)

Another pic of my gangstalicious monkeys. Ten years in the Banana smuggling business can do that to a chimp...

An overview of the vignette. Shannon Rocks!

Greg-"Aehhh-Ehhh-Eeeey!" Frank-"I'm sorry, I don't speak Japanese!"

Fourth Wall Commentary: This has been a vision in my head for quite some time and I just now ordered the pieces to make it come true. I love the gangster monkeys and the slushie machine. Also, I would like to say that this vignette was inspired by Dave Shaddix's Feeding a BrickLink Addiction. Hope you enjoyed it!

Quoting Stuart Delahay Ditto Alex's comments below, I love the coolers and the slushie bar. Nice dio, a good 'snapshot' moment - I think a few people are doing short comics and calling them dioramas for this contest but this is spot on.
Thanks. I did find the comics odd, but many were interesting. Again, thanks for the compliment!

Quoting Alex Fojtik Great concept and executed well throughout. Choosing the right details is better than overwhelming a creation, and you nailed it with this one. The slushy machine and coolers are actually my favorite parts of the MOC.
Thank you!

I have arrived! Dude, this was instantly recognizable to me. I know what you mean about that vision... I have been wanting to get back into that mini mart environment for some while now, its a lot of fun building all of those little things. This is a well executed build here, of course I have to say that due to bias. I don't know quite what to say about the monkeys, they are funny on a lot of levels. And I love the banana gun and the drumstick club, nice touch! This just goes to show us all, never trust a monkey ...or a dammed dirty ape!

Quoting Rusty S. Thanks man! Your Moc truly did inspire me, and I'm laughing from the "dammed dirty ape!"
Rusty: I am just thrilled that people actually see my stuff. I think I am one of those marginal AFOLs, stuck somewhere between greatness and Chris Phipson. Needless to say, I am flattered and really stoked to see that I actually inspired someone. Very cool, thank you.
Quoting Mike 3579 Typical stereotyping... Black monkeys holding up a convenience store. &^)
I honestly believe they are just meant to be monkeys, but I really dig the double entendre going on here. Rusty managed to walk a line without crossing over, it was well played.

On the vast continuim between greatness and Phipson, you are grossly closer to greatness. Marginal is definitely not the word that comes to mind when I see your creations. More like, detailed, hilarious, and original. I'm actually stunned that you found this and commented and I really appreciate it.
