About this creation

The First Locomotive

of the First Railroad in Texas

The 4-2-0 named the "General Sherman"
(for Texas General Sidney Sherman)
was the first locomotive of the
Buffalo Bayou, Brazos and Colorado Railway

This locomotive is blogged on RailBricks! Thanks Tony!

More information below these photos and video

The only surviving "4-2-0" (How I know that.)
The C&NW's 4-2-0 Pioneer

I know of no photographs of the
"General Sherman" locomotive but these two sketches exist.

They are how I knew where to put the name and number.

And a video!

The General Sherman Train

and "In 1852 the embryonic Buffalo Bayou, Brazos, and Colorado Railway bought a second-hand 4-2-0 engine."

How I know it was a Baldwin locomotive 4-2-0 "Bought 10/12/1852 in Boston from either the Bo&P or Bo&W; could be serial number 25, 30, 34, 39, 71, 155, 166, or 168"

I'm doing a presentation in a few weeks on the early Texas railroads (BBB&C included, of course) for a series the museum I volunteer at is putting on. May I use your photo of the Sidney Sherman build? As far as I know there isn't an original photograph of it out there and your picture could be the best representation of any kind.

That's OK. If nothing else, I'll figure it out on my own, but I have no idea on how to design.

Quoting B. W. Could you send me instructions on how to make this model, please?
Although I started this design in LDRAW/MLCAD (as I usually do) I went through MANY changes in trying to realize it, it would take a large amount of effort to produce workable plans, and I have a number of other things I am spending my LEGO time, on currently. kurt
