One of my favorite books is a old book called The Prince and the Magic Bird by Alfred E. Waller. The book is about a good prince who sets of on a journey to rescue a magic bird from a evil baron. Along the way he must slay many different dragons, using all his wits and strength. In the book are lovely illustrations (by Mary Fairchild Low), one of them is a picture of the prince in a tower looking out onto his land. I desisted to make this scene in LEGO. Here is the illustration for comparison:
"His palace had a high tower, much higher than the rest of the buildings, and when the Prince went up in that tower he could see for miles and miles around over the country he ruled. He could see across great fields, lakes, rivers, forests and other cities and villages, and far away against the sky he could see the great snow-capped mountains which made a ring almost all around the place."
