Thinships are meant for frontal assaults. They offer a minimal target to the enemy when assuming attack course, and they can offer a blinking target if they apply a good spin when disengaging.
About this creation
UTS "Neon Giger" Ultra Thin Fighter
Here you can see a little experiment with lights.

Beyond its frontal disruptors, the Giger is also equipped with an SCD (Space Cutter Device).

This Thinfighter can stay in frontal attack position until the very last second: the SCD will open a thin warp and let the ship all the way through.

The SCD is redundant: by engaging both of them the fighter becomes technically a subspace blade capable of inflicting devastating damage when piercing through its target.

Of course this takes out most of the Giger's power, and there's a good chance that the energy won't be enough for it to come through (depending on the target's size, density and energy shielding)

You can actually see both arms of the pilot: the UTS are narrower than a human torso.

A shot of the cockpit. Now, don't crucify me: I lost my black 2x1 control panel and the yellow one was the only I had left. Also, I don't have a black seat of that kind.

I think that the coolness of the fig's uniform fully makes up for it.
(I actually saw how the shoulder pad was done in a Clone Commnder's page. Can't remember who right now. I'll add it if it pops up)

And I think I'll get a camera with a better macro soon.
Crimso Giger: one of the most inspiring and supportive Sci-Fi MOCcers around. I'd never let anyone furnish my home but him. Just to think at his tiled motives and the '60s feeling of his stuff makes me nostalgic.

TS "White Ocean"

I've been itching to make something on the "Ice Planet" theme since... forever.

So this is the Ice Planet's Thinship.

Butt shot. Always a winner.

The White Ocean doubles as a Flatship thanks to the spinning cockpit (YAY! Here I can write cockpit without censorship! I'm relieved, I was getting tired of using "dongpit" in the groups, it didn't sound quite right), which allows the pilot to disengage without whirling away along with the ship.

Here we see a good old Ice Planet figgy (but with sunglasses) at the controls, and the "side shot" missiles. I wanted to add more playable feats, but they interfered with the forward's design.

A detail of the "Awsum Wepon Aray". It looks cool, and it's suppsed to power up some kind of devastating attack, but I didn't get past the failure of the "freezing ray" concept. (I mean, a freezing ray into the near 0°k of space? COME ON!) Imagine it is whatever you want.

The name was a tribute to Shannon Ocean, the demigod who created the Mysterions, probably my favourite original Sci-Fi theme EVER.

The original group shot. The other 2 were the original Thinships that started it all. You can find them HERE, and I also made a Space Pirate FS HERE :)

Thanks for reading, comments are welcome :)

These are awesome ships I just wish I had the parts and pieces...and perhaps the drive to make a few of these myself. Who knows may see a few on my page sometime when I'm not busy building little robots and junk like that |

Wow, I really like these. The design concept is cool, and also the color scheme on the one just screams ice planet. I'm going to have to try building some of these:)

So, with that Ice Planet one, the roosterpit rotates? Thereby making it both a thinship and a flatship, I presume?
Yes. And I also think that "roosterpit" is far more appropriate that my "dongpit". But mine sounds better. |

Not at all, I designed them because I have very little building skills and I wanted something cool but easy to make... |

Exactly! I have been working on a sci-fi novel for afew years now, and I have one series of ships designed as giant saucers, the theory being that you can angle the narrow aspect to the enemy's attack vector thus reducing the target. Ofcourse this only works if the enemy is a bunched fleet or a single vessel, once packs are formed the advantage is lost - unless you have packs of your own- I better stop before I write half a chapter! Wicked design man, I love this color scheme you keep on using, looks great! |

...!... First thanks for the tribute, it made my day, and being quoted on the same page than Shannon, you can't imagine what I'm feeling right now ! Thanks mate :-) I love the "cartoon/octopus" eyes that can be seen on the side of the "Giger", as well as the creative weapons system - The Ice Planet ShannOwinner is just totally awesome too, I love how you've placed those trans-orange pannel in the front, it's great ! I had the big IP ship too, one of my fav set, but now it's all melted with my collection, arf... Anyway two excellent MOCs, love your whole collection of Thinships !!! |

A P90 is a type of machine gun that was used quite often in the TV series star gate SG1 and Star gate Atlantis. It is a small compact weapon used by the military. as for the ship it is pretty good but im not a big fan of thin ships but you are a Bionicle Idol so everything you post is going to be veiwed and commented on by myself. |

.....Epic.....Anyways, I love the Thinships.....But I do have to say that the Crimso Giger looks really cool. Looks like a Carbine from Halo. Anyways, enough babbling, 98/100. Oh, and could you possibly make a how to on leg structures for mecha?(bio/technic((although I'm low on technic)) because I have no System at the moment) I am having problems, and I only have 3 pistons....So that makes Titans pretty much impossible for me.... |
