This is an entry for Classic-Castle.com's Colossal Castle Contest, in the Brick Castle category
About this creation

The idea for this category was to build a castle that's (partially) built up out of clay-fired bricks, rather than stone.

So this is my first attempt at a red castle, and I'm pretty happy with how it came out, even though that's a revolting colour to build castles with in my opinion ;) but hey that's the challenge of this category.

Outstanding creation! the architecture is spot on as well as the detail. I like how this castle is not monstrously huge, but just a the right size. I would like to see a picture of the interior. |

It looks like something from the Mediteranean Sea. A lot of houses are bright colors on the outside and dark on the inside |

Very cute. If you can't bring yourself to embrace the flaming red, just dither in some more reddish brown, and then squint a lot (and take some out of focus pictures too).

I don't know how I missed this amazing build. The colors are spot on and the architecture, superb! Different than most, but still real and believable. This is one for the flickr favorites dude. You just sparked my interest in castle. ...thank you. |

Quite stunning. The double story windows on the back side are prefect. |

AMAZING! Especially I like the different colours in the red wall and the combination of classical gray stuff with red bricks. It is different from other MOCs, but looks realistic. I like the shape of the round wall piece on the last pic. Also the overall design fits well. 5/5 |

I also really like the stone/brick combination. The red is too bright, but it's not really that bad. |

I didn't know what clay fired brick castles looked like. Googled them. Your's fits right in. Love it. (BTW - It's not too red) |

Y'know, when you take over and rebuild a ruined castle, you have to work with what ya got! I remember once, back during the Arthurian years - well, that's another story, and a long one. Anyway, I like this castle. The colors contrast nicely, and it's got a good, defensible position. The Lord just has to remember the place was taken down once, and they COULD do it again. Patrols and provisions are the two key factors here. |

Gotta say I'm diggin' the color as well. I'm very much a realist when it comes to the castle MOC's, and while this one pushes it a bit given the so-called "revolting red," It still has a nice sense of believability. So...well done and good luck in the competition! |

Have to agree with Chris on this one (*groan*), the color scheme really makes it unique. Obviously the home of some great eccentric, say...Castle Kelso? Great job with the detail work, too much to point out. Best of luck in the contest.~H |

I have to disagree with you. That color scheme came off beautifully! The contrast between the red and grey really worked well. Then let's not forget about the build! Just a wonderful job on all fronts sir! ~ Chris. |
