This is my virtual LEGO® rendition of a Roman army.
About this creation
This is my virtual LEGO® rendition of a Roman army.

BTW, Pax Romana means "Roman Peace" in Latin.

At the front and center you can see the Legatus on his horse, and standing next to him is the Signifer. To the sides stand the battalions of Roman Legionnaires.

The new Signifer:

The letters SPQR mean: Senatus Populusque Romanus ("The Senate and the People of Rome)

The machine visible in the center of the MOC is the Onager (a type of siege engine), that will star in its own MOC next week (complete with instructions), so stay tuned.

* NOTES *

I made the custom decals using Microsoft PowerPoint, Paint.NET, and a program called the Lego CAD Sticker Generator.

Credits to the makers of the game “Rome: Total War” for the laurel wreath symbol.

* As usual, the program I used to build this is LeoCAD.

I then converted it to an .ldr file and rendered it with LDView.

For info on contacting me about permission to use the design or obtaining a copy of the 3D file I made, see my homepage.

Quoting Griffin Matthews Oh, very cool! So what, did you make one guy and then copy him and position them? Great! The onager is a nice touch and really bring the whole thing together.
Yeah, the entire army was cloned from that one legionnaire (no, not *that* kind of clone, lol). And I also thought the onager made for a good visual centering element.

Quoting Tom R. Very much correct. Great to see another AFOL who actually responds to others :) (Well on mocs rather) I see, By system I mean Brickbuilds :) I refer to Brotherhood of the whatsoeversomething... Great to talk to you architect !
Oh, I see! You mean "stuff built from real, ABS plastic LEGOs". And I think the "Brotherhood" you were referring to is the "Dragon Guild of the Bloodshed Sound" ( http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/5182 ). Yeah, I still got the half-finished mascot for that on my hard drive. Too bad most everyone lost interest in that group...

Quoting Tom R. Very nice indeed, My old friend (Do you remember me? We need to continue that storyline!) The only thing I see that the problem is you haven't added any system builds. Do you not own Lego? Anywho outstanding army. I would like to see a siege :)
Thanks! Yeah, I remember you. :) BTW, what storyline? And what do you mean by "system builds"? Anyway, I do technically own a bunch of real LEGO, but it's kinda on loan to my younger siblings (I don't have a digital camera anyway). And don't worry, a siege is in the works.

Quoting Spartan 26 "Rusty" Ummf. I just tripped up on my favorite subject. Well, if you can give them bows and arrows then you could have seperate divisions for them. Ummf.
Hey, it happens to the best of us. I'm actually planning on making a comic featuring Romans battling barbarians.

Quoting Spartan 26 "Rusty" Great job, I like the flag bearer and the catapult is nice. A suggestion is to maybe vary the troops, such as having divisions of spear men and divisions of swordsmen.
Thanks! Actually the Legionnaires carried both swords and javelins.
