Alexander ALX200 Bus - Arriva London
I have built a replica of a London Arriva ALX200 bus. This is a small single decker bus with dual doors which also open on this model.
About this creation
Here is my model of an Alexander ALX200 single decker bus. This is in the Red with Yellow stripe Arriva London livery and is on route 407 to Caterham Station. I found a few pics on the net and decided to build it. This model also has opening dual doors. I fixed a clip on the tops of the doors and on the inside roof which is joined by small poles and black 'skeleton' arms which allow the door to slide open. When closed they fit tightly and as the clips are high up, you can't see the bits that make the doors work so it adds to the clean and accurate model I was trying to achieve.

Inside the bus we have green bricks for the seats, yellow poles and dark grey flat tiles throughout to complete the floor.

You may also notice that the bricks used on the front bumper are upside down. To get the right look, the bumper is clipped into a gap under the steering wheel. I have used this technique with the ALX300 bus also on MOCPages.

The first pictures show the bus with doors open and then lower down with them closed.

Below is an image of the real model.

Like your ALX-300, this is also a very nicely done creation. Again, the opening doors are a great 'plus'. Wonderful job!

Great work Bob! I am working on an 8-wide bus design myself these days, and these are great. I have been strugling a bit with a solution for the doors, and came up with something similar to yours, but way more complex, so i tihink i just might steal your idea if you don't mind :)

Quoting Andrew Larkum Absolutely fantastic. Looks so realistic and the doors are fantastic. I love it especially cos the 407 runs very near to my house. I usually get it to Sutton or West Croydon.
Ah, excellent! thanks for the comment on the bus, I've tried building a few buses from around London area but not had much time lately. At least your local is on here now!

doors are phenomenal for such a simple action. i like that the mechanism is as hidden as possible so as not to take away from the doors themselves. i've been working on a 6 stud wide door and that just might work for what i'm looking for. very good work here!

Great work. Your door mechanism is perfect. These are the best looking working doors I've seen on a bus. I also like the eight-wide format. A large vehicle like this needs to be done in eight wide. Regards, Eric.

Quoting Kenneth Moore Thanks for the comment Kenneth, I am continuing to build British buses, hope you like the others I have made. I am in the process of revising the Citaro as well.
