Gualdim Pais Ultra-Battlecruiser
The battlecruiser Gualdim Pais, the pride of the Imperial Navy
About this creation

This ship was built between 2008 and 2009. The Gualdim Pais was invented by me, so it never existed in the reality. Its on Micro-scale, 280cm length and about 32 000 parts.
The control tower is based on the KMS Bismarck with the range-finders of the Vittorio Veneto battleship.
This ship, was presented for the first time in the 2º Tomar Lego in Portugal, June 2009.
This warship can be separate in 5 sections for a easier transport.

Armament:

The ship has a main battery of fifteen 508mm (20 in) guns mounted in five triple turrets. The main battery has between 1400-1500 shells total, for approximately 90–100 shells per gun. The guns can be depressed down to -8 degrees, and elevated to +35 degrees.
It has more main guns than the HMS Agincourt and a heavier caliber than the guns of the Battleship Yamato.
The Gualdim Pais carries 25 quadruple enclosed dual purpose gun turrets. The caliber of this guns is 152mm, and they have an automatic loading system. The remaining weaponry onboard the Gualdim Pais is composed of large numbers of 90mm and 50mm anti-aircraft guns. Some 37mm anti-aircraft guns are also carried.

It´s longer than 2 small kids...

Great ship! And that is a very manageable scale...You don't have to fill a cafeteria to make a killer warship. But that first photo is really slick with the bow wake and all. There's a photo-editing discussion/help group where that shot would look awesome(even though it's not a space ship, that's ok) Fantastic work! http://www.mocpages.com/group.php/13655

Quoting Mr. Inkognito Very nice model in large scale. I really like battle ships and yours is excellent. Perhaps its a little bit too narrow but who cares ;-)
Thanks Mr. Inkognito ^^ When I started to build this battlecruiser, the main idea was to build a 2 meter ship, but I tried to make it longer, so it became too narrow. Now, I´m working on a new project, much more detailed and much more fun, involving an alternate Kriegsmarine and Royal Navy... Thanks again Eínon

Look dj schwan, I´m not here to discuss small details in warship designs with you. I invented this ship, it´s an alternate world ship, so it doesn`t need to obey to the rules of physics of our world. Besides, this ship was design using a program from the Game Warship Gunner 2. In this game, you can install a 1 000mm gun in the hull of Leader class cruiser and achieve 200 knots of speed. Eínon

i looked up squeeze bore on wiki and i saw nothing relating to its recoil effect. as far as my physics take me, the sqeeze bore would create more recoil by taking more force to push the round out of the barrel.

ah, but you are wrong(The use of ship prefixes is not universal; in particular neither the Third Reich's Kriegsmarine nor the Imperial Japanese Navy used ship prefixes. Some English-language writers use prefixes like "DKM" (for "Deutsche Kriegsmarine") and "HIJMS" (for "His Imperial Japanese Majesty's Ship") or "IJN" (for "Imperial Japanese Navy", a translation of ‘å“ú–{’鍑ŠCŒR dai-nippon teikoku kaigun) for consistency with "HMS" and "USS". Other writers follow the practice of the navy and omit any prefix.) if your ships really does have 15 18.1"+ guns, it would definitely deserve a new designation, as it is too heavily armed and armored to be a battlecruiser and too thin and fast to be a battleship. look it up on wiki

Quoting dj schwan WoooHoooo! time for some of my infamous CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM! no, dont run away, this is for your benefit. 1. the pre-designation acronym for all WWII german ships was DKM, not KMS, for Dutch KriegsMarine. 2. for that size and caliber of main gun, the hull is grossly underwidth. unless you want to capsize every time you unleash a broadside, i strongly suggest a wider hull. this will also make room for easier passage of crew among the decks, and more capacity for AA armament. 3. i suggest clearing the decks of all but nececary equipment, such as AA, anchor chains, bulls & pinions, etc. 4. i also suggest beefing up the upper superstructure/bridge. not only will thickening the build increase strenth, but increase passageways up and down the decks. ... thats about it 4 now. other then that great work.
You are wrong in every single thing you said. 1. The pre-designation acronym for all WWII german ships was KMS! The control tower is based on the Bismarck. This ship has nothing to do with dutch warships. 2. This ship is a battlecruiser, so it´s narrow than a battleship. If you watch the Hood hull, is almost the same. This ship is much longer than a carrier, so the armament is possible. Besides, the ship fires shells according to the squeeze bore principle (go visit wikipedia to know more). 3. Every ship needs detail! If you want to remove all the details of the deck, it will became horrible. 4. I like the superstructure as it is. It needs to be light for an easier transport. Eínon

Quoting LEGO Master 280cm (9 feet) in length!!! I LOVE BIG LEGO SHIPS! I am making Operation Ten Go from World War 2 in 1"/108" scale (2.54cm = 274.32cm). I have the blueprints/diagrams of all the ships & planes in that battle. Battleship Yamato has been completed. Destroyer Yukikaze is in the early building stages.
Right now, I´m building a modern light gray fleet. The ideia is to create a naval battle between my actual dark gray fleet and the new fleet. It seems we shared the same ideas, we both want to make epic naval battles. I will wait for the operation Ten-Go with great enthusiasm. Any help that you need just ask me.
