The Agamemnon hulls were the next step in multi-role, affordable, space domination for the Earth Alliance after the Alpha Centauri conflict. The Earth Alliance and the other two primary powers of Earth, the Alliance of Asiatic States and the China Protectorate, were all caught off guard by the ferocity of the Alpha Centauri conflict, and were unable to properly respond. This would later lead to the formation of the Centauri Republic from the angry survivors of the short lived war. It would also make the Earth Alliance painfully aware of the fact that their Dragonstar class attack warships were aging and were no longer top of the line. True, they were still a powerful warship, but so many were lost in the Alpha Centauri system that the Earth Alliance had no choice but to launch a new hull. Since then, the Agamemnon classes of warships have been refitted four times. The cut-off for the Earth Alliance is actually three refits, but the Agamemnon classes have proven themselves so sturdy and successful at such a wide range of mission profiles that the Earth Alliance has since decided to keep these vessels around for one additional refit, with each refit taking place twenty years after the previous. This means that the Agamemnon hulls have been in service for 80 years.
About this creation
The Agamemnon Command-Variant (ACV class) is nearly identical to the standard Agamemnon hull, save that the forward bay has been converted to a command-and-operations room. Usually the forward hold is an extra space that can be used for extra ordnance or equipment, or to house extra Space Marines for planetary assault. Those hulls are designated Agamemnon Line Ship (ALS class) and form the back bone of nearly any Earth Alliance space operation after the Alpha Centauri conflict. The ACV class are called upon as command ships for both space operations and ground operations, and there is typically one ACV class assigned to any battle group or ground assault group. The ACV usually operate in support of operations, and do not serve on the front lines. However, the ACV class sacrifices none of its firepower or fighting ability to accommodate its VIPs or to house the “war room” in its forward bay.
Here we see the bridge structure with the bridge viewports. Also we see various secondary comms, sensors and scanner antennae/dishes, as well as the secondary sensor array dome that sits atop the bridge structure. The crew hatch marks the top of a ladder well that runs through all three decks of the ship.
The War Room serves as the command and operations nerve center for directing fleet and ground operations from an Agamemnon CV (Command Variant) class vessel. On a regular Agamemnon Line Ship (ALS class), this space would be used to house mission specific equipment/materiale or extra Star Corp Marines for operations. Directly aft of this compartment is the docking control room, which can also serve as a secondary bridge in case of emergency. Beneath this compartment are the primary communications array, and the primary sensor array dome. Also seen above the expansive viewport is one of two point defense turrets.
The under structure does not house much. It holds an airlock for EVA requirements, and a preparation room where space suits are stored.
The aft structure of an Agamemnon. Here we see the light, single barrel particle turrets with their independent power housings, and dangling from the underside of the cargo bays are the double barrel, heavy particle cannons.
[I am not completely satisfied with the engines. When building and designing this part of the SHIP, I wanted the engines to be vertical of each other. It was only after building this that I noticed they looked 'tacked on'. But in order to change this, I would have to do some restructuring of the aft section, and I am nearly all out of dark bley and black. So that means a BL order]
The docking port fits all of the hatches on this ship, the little shuttle you see below, all of the Elerian ships I have done, all of the Saber shuttles I have done, and the Gaian science ship Spectre. I am going for a universal docking system.
Here we can see the docking control room viewport, with a magnetic grappler to either side.
The crew of the Agamemnon, not counting the two medical personnel who are entombed in the ship's medical bay. The Space Police III seem to make for handy space marines, especially if you call them Star Corp Marines (hence the star emblem on all of the uniforms).
Cargo bay and scrambler closed.
Cargo bay 2 door open.
The scramblers are another potent piece of technology in an Agamemnon's arsenal. The sensitive scramblers are usually kept tucked away under armored panels, and are opened up to jam enemy sensors and communications, making an enemy vessel deaf, dumb and blind.
The top device is the navigational deflector dish. The four half circle devices are part of the deflector focusor -- they allow for the deflector energy to be focused and directed. Thus, the deflector energy can be used to create a very powerful push on an object, or another ship. This is called the "repulsor beam" effect. Otherwise, the system is simply used to remove space junk and debris out of the path of the ship. The lower object is the primary offensive weapon of any Agamemnon vessel -- the super pulse cannon. This heavy cannon generates a massive pulse of destructive energy that impacts on matter and energy fields alike with destructive results.
This small cargo shuttle was originally designed exclusively for this ship back when it had a hangar bay. But, there was not enough cargo or crew space, so the hangar was dropped. Now, this little shuttle serves as a cargo transporter for ship-to-ship, ship-to-station, or ship-to-planet cargo runs.

When do you think you'll post something new?
Well, the Black Hand was something new, a big project that had taken a few months. While waiting for that to finish I did some more shuttles which I just posted at Flickr, and tried to post here but they got dumped before the page was finalized. I am right now finishing another spaceship that measures about 70 studs. I think I will post something new in about a week.
