fantastic, its great to see your work back here, my main source of inspiration has returned. out of interest, the 1x2 tiles on the lightbars, are they lighter trans white, or the darker ones? i can only find the darker ones at the moment.

my engine 2 is up on my page, a 2010 Arrow XT (without cab steps...), although I can't say it measures up to your mastery of Pierce pumpers...lol

Looking at this truck again, i realized that the Engine 2 i'm building right now is very similar, and it wasn't even on purpose. My cab design is a little simplified, but the rest is close. It should be up in the next week! (i will end up crediting some parts to you)

Great rig Bob, and I am glad to read that I am not the only one that has placed myself as a "character" on one of my departments. Although mine is somewhat fictional. But it is also my best rig too, I feel.

awsome truck Bob but i got my 1x4x4 dors on the lego fire truck set for just $20 the set but i have to say this is my favorite engine on moc pages great job

You should see what its like in a 10-man cab...Talk about a Cluster! My department downsized from a 10 man cab to an 8 man cab. Its interesting when you have a full cab. Gotta watch knee placement....if you know what I mean! LOL!

Andrew, Well, theres a E-One Hush around here that has 8 that is very akwardly seated, which is theres two flip-seats (some call hydrant man seats), and theres 4 against the side walls, and then theres the 2 Front seats. My companys Engine 1 and 2 are 10 man sutphen's, which you may think is a lot of room, well think again. Whne you have to get your gear on in the back, its very very diffucult! We also have 2 newer sutphens (Rescue and truck) which are both 6 mans which SUCK! The seating placement is HORRIBLE, you can bearly get your gear on in the back if you have to.

Robbert, this is mostlikely the BEST turck you have ever made. I really like the cheverons on the back, and thanks for the help on the truck. Keep up the good work

You know, I always see trucks with 8 man cabs and can't even imagine riding with 8 people in one of those. There's an e-one with a cab just like this size down the road from my house and they only hve four seats in a full size cab. But all the township departments around me use mostly commercial cabs anyway.

Thanks, Lee! Problem is I can't add a booster reel to the back because it will mess up the tool mountnig in the rear side compartments. So, I'm knida stuck with giving the appearance of a roll up door on the back step.

As always, kick butt truck. ALthough, the back of this looks a little boring, needs some...SPICE! throw in a booster reel or compartment or something. But thats just the 3 pennies I could find...haha

I know what you are talking about with the 1x4x4 doors...when I started building my first Engine I went over to Bricklink to order some parts, mainly those RED 1x4x4 doors until I saw the $25 price tag for each! Hmmm. break the moral code and paint my grey doors red or take it out of the wife's shoe fund??? :-)

50 dollars????? Wow. That really says something. If your willing to spend 50 dollars on 2 lego pieces, you are truly a dedicated builder! The lift doors you speak of, the rear red ones or the ones above the wheels?

For LTFD's 2010 budget plan, what unit is next to be replaced?

I have to admit gang that this engine, unlike the other apparatus I've build, I put my heart into this...not that I didn't give it my best with the others, because I did. But this one is more personal for me. In the real world, I am on Engine 2 in my town and the LTFD Station 2 is modeled after my firehouse. (www.rutherfordfire.org/mortimer.htm). We have a 2005 Pierce Arrow XT, which replaced a 1989 Pierce Lance (funny how the new Lego XT replaced the Lance, isn't it). Anyway, in the Lego world, I do not see myself as a chief in the LTFD. Rather, just a firefighter....not even a Captain or Lieutenant. So, I figured if my Lego ccharacter was going to ride on the new truck, I'd want the best for "me." If I'm going to replace LTFD E-2, I was going to do it right and splurge.....hence the 2 red 1x4x4 lift doors(which cost me $50), the angled front bumper, the colored gauges on the pump panel with matching color markers under the corresponding hose lines. I'm very pleased with how it came out. I'm still waiting for some minor parts to arrive to officailly complete it. I thank you all for our comments so far. And, if you don't like it and you want to tell me that, that's fine too! : )

Thank you, Eric! Natural lighting is always good. The only issue I have is that I try to take pictures of the apparatus in front of the firehouse that it is stationed at. Due to the size of the stations (and in sometimes cases, the weight) it is not a good option for me to take them outside for pics....and sadly, I have a lot of shade to my south, so I really can't get that good of natural light coming through the windows if I were try to do indoor shots with natural lighting. Bob, this is one of the best on these pages. It is overall one of the best looking rigs I've seen. It is well balanced, and fits the part of a modern engine really well. Keep building!!! Very nice Bab (not that I would expect any less from you) I'm liking the red/blue lights on the bumper. All I would say to improve on, is try to make another step on the front to make it a true XT. Otherwise, as I said, great job!

this might be the best engine i've seen yet, the chassis is my personal favorite. I have to ask, where/how did you get the red 4x4 doors? great job, i'm going to have to take some notes for my next engine

Bob, I have very high standards for myself and for rigs I comment on. I only comment on rigs that just Explode right out of the page, this is one of the best engines I have ever seen on MOC! p.s unfortunately yes, i do scrap my rigs after i've taken the pics, but I'm in the process of collecting parts to build all of them.

Same here Bob, I put them on my last engine and it looked great and the truck I'm building right now has them. I think I'm gonna do it on all of the future trucks and maybe do it to some already built.

You're right Jessie! When I first saw those grills on bricklink, I ordered a couple just to see how it looked. When I put it on the truck, I loved the look. So I ordered a whole bunch more an outfitted the entire department.

Thank you, Bruce! Eventually...I have to get some more tools. The mounts are in place. During the year, I was trying to mount all the tools in the trucks and have a standard set of tools for certain pieces. I never got around to do the old E-2. So, I never put the standard tools on board. I need to get a handlight, axe, dry chem and a water can...then I can take the shots.
