This is my sophomore attempt at creating Battlestar Galactica from the reimagined series. I named this Final Galactica because I hope this will be my last attempt at this subject. The "ribs" proved to be a nightmare and I ended up using at least 5 different techniques to create them. I also took quite a bit of artistic license - I tried repeadtedly to duplicate the gentle curves of the Galactica but the shapes combined with ribs were not Lego friendly. I dont know how many pieces I used to creat this one but it was quite a few since she's mostly comprised of plates and tiles. She measures just over 37 inches long. Oh and I almost forgot: Thanks to Legostein for the Colonial One instructions on Brickshelf. I had to substitute tan for white since I didnt have the necessary white peices but I think it turned out pretty well and almost to exact scale with Galactica.
deine galactica sieht echt klasse aus. sie ist sehr detailreich und sieht dem original wirklich ähnlich.
sieh dir doch auch mal meine battlestars an. würde mich auch über eine bewertung freuen.
great job man! i am excited to see people are still building these after the series ended. Great idea on the engines to go SNOT. That is the part that is least accurate on mine. I experimented with using panels for the armor as well, but ended up using grills instead.

Looks great sir! Question, is there someway u hae blueprints or willing to make another for sale? Let me know please! rdhouse09@Hotmail.com
Wow, thanks for the comment. Unfortunately I built most it from scratch without LDD or any other program. I tried to start out on computer but never could get all of the angles right so I dont have blueprints. As for selling this one, I put too much time and engergy into it to let it go just yet. Sorry but for now she's unique. Youll be the first to know if I have a change of heart.
I am a huge fan of the show and I think you did an amazing job here. The effort you put into the ribs really payed off and I just don't think you could have done the shape any better with the restrictions that LEGO bricks have in that scale. Fantastic work!
Hey, this is freakin cool. I loved that show! You did a really good job of re creating the Galactica. THis is such a wonderful MOC, too bad all the little people inside are bickering with killing eachother, and that some of them are toasters. LOL Truly superb building.
If I could give you a hundre battlestars instaed of only 5, I certainly would. I'm a huge BSG fan, and this plagarism of yours is ... Leaving me in awe. I call it "plagarism" because you copied it exactly from the show! I can't see the artistic license you took; it looks deadly accurate to me. The ribbing design is ingenious I might add. And your Colonial One displayed portside really sets it off nicely, and reminds us of the sheer scale of this behemoth, both in "real life", and,...in real life here.
I'm sure it's bittersweet in a way to have it finished, as I experienced the same feelings when I built a Raptor near the series finale.
kudos, Kudos, and again I say unto thee, KUDOS!
Wow, really nice! I've considered doing the new Galactica for the last two years, but the unusual ribbing design always held me back. I think, for the scale here, you've done a fantastic job on capturing not only the form, but the texture of the ship. A phenomenal tv series, and a worthy MOC! Well done!
