The Excelsior Class Heavy Mech (Juggernaut) was the first assault Mech in the Felag Mechanized Infantry to carry energy weapons. Armament includes: the MMIC-101 Orbital-Grade ION Canon, The 120mm Stinger Medium Range Plasma Rotating Cannon, Rear-mounted Quad-230mm flack cannons and Multipurpose Rocket Pod. Among many of the Juggernaut advancements include its advanced armor, shield generators, Self-Sustaining Energy Core, Neural Pilot Interface and 360 degree Holographic HUD (Heads-up-Display). The Juggernaut stands nearly 70 feet (22 meters) tall and has a velocity of over 65mph (104.6Kph) over even terrain. The weapon systems are mounted on stabilizers allowing for very accurate hits while at velocity.
The Juggernaut was created in response to the increased Bio-Mech and Hybrids seen and/or captured from the battlefield. Mainly used in medium to large incursions the Juggernaut is well suited for many combat roles. First fielded with the Felag 21st Mechanized Infantry Group (Panthers), the Juggernaut has proven its worth during several intense combat situations. Two of the ECHM Juggernauts broke through the battle lines of BIO-MECH force unscathed allowing the remainder of the Felag MIG to easily take the mega-city and force an unconditional surrender. There are documented cases of a squad of Juggernauts single-handedly leveling entire cities, anything less than a full battalion assault against a squad of well-manned Juggernauts is nothing short of suicide.
The MMIC-101 ION Cannon creates a negative singularity at the point of impact, drawing all energy and matter out of the immediate area. This singularity explodes outward with devastating force. The resulting shockwave annihilates everything within its radius. The MMIC-101 has several fire modes: rapid fire, burst and singularity mode (described above).
