This is my 'Insanity Combo', a combination of the 'Insanity Ride' Peterbilt i build a while ago, and a fresh 40 ft container chassis, all in 1:13 scale.
About this creation
It was clear to me that i needed a 1:13 scaled trailer for my Peterbilt 'Insanity Ride'. Building something with the same chequered flag would mean though that i could not use the trailer for any other truck, and building like three or four 1:13 scaled trailers is not only quite costly, but also takes a lot of space!
Therefor i decided to construct a container chassis. The standard worldwide is 40ft, and this is a more European based construction, that basically can also be used for a pair of 20ft containers. For that reason the rear section with the taillights is adjustable, and i have constructed it the same.
The total length of this combo is now 1.50 meters, it carries around 8000 bricks, and clocks around 8 kilo's of weight. You can hear the rear axles suffer under that weight :-)
The chassis has a system that holds the container by air pressure, and this i all modelled too. The controls are in the boxes on the sides. Besides this the chassis has many reflectors and lights all around. It also features the extended fenders that also cover the wheels on the rig. The support wheels are retractable, and wheelblocks are mounted at each side of the trailer too.
I`m speechless... well actually I have a lot to say! It`s got great detail and function! It`s amazingly in perfect proportion! Plus I like the little black/white decal on the side! Once again, this is amazing!
This is so huge, so cool, so detailed! great to see you improved lately on presenting your MOCs, just keep building my friend :) ps. I wanted to comment on this yesterday but MOCpages was going to slow for me, I couldn't... Keep it up pal >>> peace.. Firas
