Hey what's up? This is my entry for round 3 of the MocOlympics. The theme is "castle". My idea for this was to try to make more of a dark kind of evil castle. So I hope you like it. Also, if anyone has any tips for photos or photo shopping website's please help me out - becuase if you can tell, my photos don't have the best quality and it's hard to notice some of the good details when the photos aren't high quality. Enjoy!

From the thumb, I thought it looks really evil, and this was your goal, so win ! - Need maybe a few more little details, but the castle itself is a solid design, great work !

I really like this - simple but quality. I think it would be better with trees and plants and whatnot, but I'm assuming you don't have any (otherwise you'd have put them in) so this still gets a high score from me. Really nice job, 4 stars Thanks! I acctually do have plants an stuff. The reason why I didin't put any up, Is becuase the idea of this castle was supposed to be dark an more of an evil Castle. I'm not sure if youv'e noticed but I have a pic of the pit of lava under the bridge.

Well...compared to Kevin 's entry this looks rather dull, but really, I wouldn't have done any better. My vote goes to Kevin, thanks for playing! |

A solid build, Brian. Nice design, but as Shaddix mentioned, could use some more color and more visual activity (detailing, or action). Time to hit the showers, but don't feel too bad. You did well against a very tough opponent. |

Brian, good work here. This is a good, solid build, but Kevin owned this round. I would have liked to seen some more color and angles like Kevin's. Just so you know, Kevin would have 'outcaslted' me too. Sorry but I can't give you my vote here. good luck ~dave |

Your adaptability and versatility is incredible! I mean, first, great post apoc, and then an excellent castle! It sure pays off, getting you all the way to round three. Great work, and good luck! |

Photo taking was the hardest thing for me when I first started. Here's a few tips that helped me along the way. I see you have some poster board behind the moc, you'll want to either get some more or just go with a nice IRONED white sheet. Covering up the background noise is one of the biggest things to help the audience suspend their belief and focus on your moc. Next, go to a local hardware store and pick up a couple of light fixtures that have clips on the bottom. They usually run about 7 to 10 bucks depending on where you are and can be moved around to get the lighting effect you want for your pics. Then be sure to turn OFF the flash on your camera. Next, set the camera to the "micro" setting. It's usually marked with a little flower or something on the camera. Lastly, get either a tripod for your camera or set yourself on a book or table or some steady surface to take the pics. Hand held cameras just don't cut it for nice, focused shots. Hope that helps ya out a bit and good luck with the judges! ~ Chris. |
