This is my entry for the 2009 MocOlympics Round 3 in the category "Microscale" against Alex Eylar. Enjoy!
About this creation
Category: "Microscale"
Opponent: Alex Eylar
Group: 2
==========================================
WARNING: This MOC's commentary contains mature content and lots of "pseudo-subliminal" acronyms and innuendos. Don't say I did not warn you, OK?
==========================================
INTRODUCTION:
"I weep for your competition... have fun ANNIHILATING everyone in your talented path!" - Kelso's comment in Alex's first entry
"It’s been only less than two weeks since the release of 10197 Fire Brigade, but Alex Eylar has already microscaled it." - Nannan's post in The Brothers Brick blog.
I suppose my fate is already sealed ( sniff ). I'm just gonna go sit in a dark corner now and chug a cold one... Oh, that's right, I don't drink ... F@#%&@#%!!!
Alrighty, enough with the drama. First off, thanks a million to those who are cheering for me! Yes, I'm pointing at the three of you seating in the Sherpa-guided section of the stadium. How's the view up there? Microscale? ... Let's get this over with.

Master Shifu Leo J presents
in the category
"Microscale"
L.I.P.S.
==========================================

Welcome to the Longship Interstellar Pit Stop, affectionately called the L.I.P.S. by wary travelers, explorers, and probers of deep space. It is the -only- known Pleasure, Maintenance, and Supply space port in the ENTIRE universe... Unless, of course, other space ports claim they are also P.M.S.-compliant... I wouldn't wanna get in the middle of that catfight.

The majority of longships dock in the multiple decks of the PV Docking Bay. It is situated to the front of the L.I.P.S. Travelers get off while their ships are thoroughly inspected after an extended transit across different worlds. Commercial ships load and/or unload their goods here as well.

The lowest deck of the PV Docking Bay offers the "In-And-Out Quicky Lube" service, which is known for their 100% "Licky Boom Boom Down" guarantee. Notice the traffic jam. Survey shows that after each service, a longship gets back in line at least 7 more times.

The Control and Logistics Intertraffic Terminal is strategically located at the apex of the PV Docking Bay to direct proper longship docking.

If guests are staying overnight, the HOtel Lemieux Entéur has ample accomodations guaranteed to keep them asking for more. In fact, one memorable guest named Shifu has exclaimed in his excitement, "FTW! FTW!". None of the hotel staff understood the acronym at that time. The meaning was later revealed in the Intergalactic Relay Chat by an underground prophet named Titan A.E. His transmission read "Forced To Weep".

The PR Docking Bay is exclusively allocated to the BFC-DSP. Its merry crew keeps calling this bay the "buttdock" or "c-r-r-r-rack" for some unknown notion. It is situated to the rear of the L.I.P.S. ... Huh? What's that rippling sound? Something's opening...

Whoot! There It Is!

"Cotton candy, sweet and low, let me see that tootsie roll ! Come on, tootsie roll, just make that tootsie roll ! Here we go, tootsie roll, just make that tootsie roll !" --- 69 Boyz in da haus, y'all! The "bump-and-grind" docking maneuver (i.e., crash landing) is always a delight to the BFC-DSP crew.

It's not known what kinds of contaminants cling to the BFC-DSP after each black hole exploration. PIMM Industries pay a premium for the clean up and recharge with the patented Inject, Unshrivel, and Disinfect Procedure developed and perfected by resident buttoxogist Dr. John Wang in the R&D department of this space port.

Trestle-Held Interlaced Girder Hulls are situated on both sides of the L.I.P.S.

The right T.H.I.G.H. houses the command center, R&D department, and an array of communication equipment.

The left T.H.I.G.H. contains the storage facilities, maintenance unit, artificial gravity generators, and emergency power turbines.

The power plant is situated above the PR Docking Bay. It is fueled by ESsential TROjan Ginseng Extracts and Nutmegs, a viscous and potent blend formulated by Dr. John Wang. It has been the preferred formula to sustain any energy demands on the L.I.P.S.
The construction of the L.I.P.S. is by no means complete. It is still expanding in the northern section, where the future PO Docking Bay will "open wide" soon.

The fleet of longships.

The L.I.P.S. during a lonely moment, which is usually never. The longships temporarily retracted for this standalone shot...

... and it didn't take long for them longships to get more action. Pandemonium!
"Come get some titillating service today at the L.I.P.S. !"
... Master Shifu takes a bow ...
THE END

Congrats on advancing. That's a nice colourful build with a really colourful commentary! We Englishmen love smut, but that shouldn't take away from the very cool details here. Good luck for next round. |

I'm starting to think we need to develop a vaccine for builders who get the Phipson!(*itch, itch, scratch, scratch*)This is some funny stuff! My only criticism is the BFC being the smallest of the ships, I mean it's in the name. Great acronym usage. Good luck with your opponent. Thanks for the vine, I'm out!
You know what? In the mad rush to beat the deadline, I totally forgot about the size. It's suppose to double in length after the "procedure" in the PR Docking Bay. Oh well... |

Way to go Shifu! Not only is Alex NOT annihilating you, he's on the cusp of getting beaten. No weeping for this builder! You've got my vote! While you're concept was quite "Phipsonesque," I thought it was still really clever and well executed. Let's see what Gio goes for.

I see you've been studying the ancient art of JonePhipfu! Ok... so Alex has ya cold on technical build.. But MAN! If I could vote in this group, you'd get mine hands DOWN! (insert "pun" on your own if you must) "Outside the box" thinking is what the Olympics are all about and THIS is... ok, so technically it's all about getting IN the box, but you know what I mean! I LMFAO from begining to end! Thank you (wipes tear from eye) thank you. Good luck with the judges! ~ Chris. |

Holy macaroni! Needless to say, I adore all the teeny longships. Awwww they look so cute! I never thought a simple idea of mine would make it into several other MOCs. But there's other details in here that make this very good. The hotel, for example. And the left, erm, thigh. A solid microscale build! |
