"Hello there. How can I help you today?"
"Um, yes, hi. We're here for the MocOlympics tour"
"Oh, I'll page Dr. Mayer."

Why hello. You must be that Moffat fellow with the Olympics. I am Oscar Mayer Jr.II. Welcome to the Bologna Research Institute's main laboratory.

This here is our state-of-the-art miniature Electron Microscope. You also see a research sample on the table.

This microscope was designed chiefly for this lab by our Head Creative Consultant.

This here is Johnny, our Head of the Research Team.

Right now he's observing our Vacuum Chemical Analysis Chamber.

This here's Ted. What's this you're working on?
"We're trying to determine if bologna responds to its name "Oscar Mayer".

We actually have your Great-Grandfather's preserved brain as a control."

Frank seems to be busy, so I won't bother him. Oh, and Johnny? The lab rat's out again!

This here is the Bologna Lathe. It actually serves no scientifical purpose, but it makes for one heck of a coffee break.

How many times must I tell Bob to lock the cage door.....

"Mr. Mayer Sir? The results from the electron analysis came in. Turns out they were unable to determine what the slice was made of...."

Well folks, there you have it. No matter how thin you slice it, it's still bologna.

*John Here*A bologna package not unlike our Schneider's brand....

My microscope design that I'm so very proud of.

Wee! Brainwaves! *Back to Oscar*

This is the main Bologna Preparation Floor. Sadly, due to health and safety standards, we can't let you in there with anything less than a bio-suit.

The Vat. This is where all of the ingredients are congealed into Industrial Strength Bologna. (You, my friend Mr. Moffat, are the first person from the public, EVER, to see what goes in to this stuff.)

The Extruder Valve and Extruder Tube.

Here we see the Bologna-Vac 5000 transferring a slab to the Bologna-Bot.

A large LASER slices and cooks the massive sausage all at once.

Here it comes out of the Extruder.

Steve here is taking a core sample for the Quality Control Dept.

*John* The Bologna-Vac's rail is fully articulate. It moves side to side and back and forth. It is actually able to go and pick up slabs.

*Back to Oscar*

Sebastiénne is working the Bologna-Vac.

*John* A tall shot.

And a close(er)-up of the LASER.

*Oscar* Boys! Stop messing about when the tour's on!

One final shot.
Creator's Comments:
This was a fun thing to make. It's something I never would have made, EVER, without the help of the MocOlympics. But more than likely, this will be my last entry. Maybe I'll build some other categories, just to try some new things when Shannon beats me.

I thought is was good with just the first part but then you went and added the robotic area under and... man. The judges are going to have a tough time with this call. Good luck! ~ Chris.

are you supposed to eat the sausage?
Of course not, it's for testing purposes only. As an extra security procedure, bologna is actually banned in the lunch room, for fear of smuggling. |

Wow, this is a solid entry! That robotic slicing area is fantastic. I love the idea of the Bologna Vat having all that nasty junk in it. Your robot is quite realistic as well. The top area is very clean looking as well, and that microscope design is great. Another thing I really enjoyed is that package of Bologna. That's an ingenious technique. Best of luck my friend, best of luck! |
