Category: Popular Fiction – Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events, The Wide Window: Aunt Josephine’s House
Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire arrive on Damocles Dock to live with their Aunt Josephine. What unfortunate events await them here? Perhaps Count Olaf disguised (quite poorly) as a captain with a peg leg, flesh eating Lachrymose leeches, or perhaps a frightening adventure on Lake Lachrymose during a hurricane?
A few shots of the interior of the house including the kitchen, main room, library and the children's room.
I know many of you were expecting me to pull out more Harry Potter. Surprise! I decided to take a different approach to popular fiction and challenge myself to build something new. After all, that’s what the MOColympics is all about, right?
Over the summer, I enjoyed reading some of the books by Lemony Snicket in his “A Series of Unfortunate Events” series and thought that Aunt Josephine’s house would be an excellent choice for this round! There were a few "challenges" along the way, but overall I am very happy about the result.
Best of luck to my competition, Willis Legomancer!
holy jebus I loved this series it was the first set of books I started to enjoy reading a real long time ago I remember my mom got the first one for me for christmas when I was like 6 or something and been read and always waited in anticipation for the next.
Amazing work! I really like it. I just wish you could have added in the scene with the house breaking apart and the large battering ram that susan and klause built to save themselves. Keep up the great work because
I don't know if you are one for justice, but I have a group called Freedom Fighters who are dedicated to stoping and reporting people or groups that are mean or hurtful. I invite you to join us, we need a more 'feminine' approach to the group....
YOWZA!!! This building is FANTASTIC! I remember the scene in the movie, and I think you did an excellent job of pulling it off. The details are extraordinary and you obviously deserve the win. Best of luck to you in Round 3! Can't wait to see what you pull off there.
Oh, nice! The exterior work alone is killer, but the interior sends it over the top. Great stuff. Haven't read any of these yet, but I've found our tastes to be somewhat similar...hmmmmm...may be time to hit the library!
Sorry for taking so long to respond, my computer's been under the weather, lately, and truth be told, my older sibling is typing this for me on HER computer! She actually had to describe your entry for me, and I must say I was blown away by the description! Lemony Snicket ROCKS, and you pulled this scene off brilliantly! The amount of detail is staggering, good luck in round three!
(Big sis loves this a bunch, I especially like the tile in the kitchen! Awesome work~)
Ah, Stacy - WOW! This moc actually give me shivers. This just became my favourite build of yours (although the amphitheater is still right up there). You have my vote and the win. Now excuse me while I download the photos for later 'viewing' Lee.
Really super. Nice furniture and a great house for it to go in. I sure liked the movie and sort of like the books. Haven't finished the series yet. It's very picturesque yet frustrating. see ya. garth

Awesome work! The rock is stellar and the house is amazing. And then let's talk about the interior. Wow! Great work here. Really, really awesome! Oh...and I really like the little round stained glass window above the window.
