MOColympics 2009 - Round 2 - Group 1G - Crimso Giger vs Christian t - Category : Mech
About this creation

After a long, long time of work, I've finally finished my entry for the MOColympics !

It's surely one of my biggest MOC so far, and one of the most complicated too. Mechas are not part of my confort zone...

In case you wonder, yes, this is micro-scale. So the real thing is HUGE. I wanted to make a microscale AT-AT to show the scale, but Lego don't make micro-parts lol

It is part of the Zorg Empire, of course !

It looks like some kind of armadillo, or a strange dinosaur, for me it's just a Monster. I love monsters. "Oh no, there goes Tokyo, Go go Godzilla !"

Hope you'll like it, I know it's far from being perfect, but we got ten days, not months, to make our entries, so...

A top view...

On this shot it looks like a pig :/ No, not this kind of pig, Chris ;-)

Some details now !

Sides greebles... with my beloved bionicles parts ^_^

The side...

The command bridge on the top of the mech...

The legs, here you can see the way it walks ^_^

The back of the mech...

An overall shot, from the front.

The Head. I've tried a least three different design before this one, it wasn't easy to make a good looking "Dragon" head... I think it turned out rather good, at least I hope.

Wait a minute... What the heck ??? Something is coming out of the body of the mech !

It's a ship !!! Mwahahaha even if it's the Mech Category, I've managed to put a ship in my entry. Believe me, this feature (which was the first idea I've had before building the whole project) gives me a lot of hard work and pain, but I'm happy to have keep the concept.

Here's an overall shot of the ship, with the wings deployed.

Another view of the ship...

Some details, behind the Dragon head...

Details of the wings system...

Here's a shot of the back of the ship, with the engines.

Fly away, Dragonfly !
Thanks for viewing my entry :-)

I was just looking over my entry and i looked at yours, and now I just want to say how truly sorry I am. It is evident that you put in a ton of work and time in to this, and I show up with a dinky, 4 inch tall robot. It was never a contest who would win, but i feel i could have tried harder. At any rate, thanks for the competition.
Thanks, but maybe it's because I've got too much time on my hand, and a lot of parts... Your entry was not bad at all ! Thanks too for the competition :-)

Only one word can describe this... WOW!!!!!
Is that your own design? How long did it take to make? I LOVE IT!
Thanks ! Yes it's my own design. I can't give the precise number of hours it took me, but it was a long, long time !

Nice to see a quadrapedal mech instead of chicken walkers with enormous cannons. Good idea to do microscale and a clever killer blow with the craft inside. Great stuff, congrats. |

Jesus Christ, this one is HUGE! Once again you take the wind out of me with your marvellous creations. I like your style, you can tell at once it's a Giger/Zorg MOC just by giving it a glance. When I saw the first photo i actually hoped the Monster Mech was a big hangar and... YES it was! Way to go and good luck in the next round! |

Of course, your mech had to have retro-mech legs too :) It just wouldn't be yours otherwise. I was wondering about the front of the vehicle! Why was there that huge gap? Then it was all revealed at the end! Great MOC! |

You did it! The walking Zorg ship! Wowzers Crimso, this is not what I was expecting (I was a little scared we'd see Amazon Bot II, hehe). I was shocked when I first saw this, then you shocked me again when a giant ship came out of the giant mech, I think I need a nap and after that some more time to look at this and let all the amazing details soak in! |

Thanks Yuri !!! First, I must say that your great entry in Round 1 gives me motivation to do something big and complicated. For the scale, as I've said, I think an Imperial AT-AT would be the size of a 2x4 brick in this thing. Lol - sometime I'm just getting totally megalomaniac ^_^ |

A truly wonderful work. You brought your Zorg theme to a whole new level. It gives a very strong early '60, or even end of '50s vibe. Since it's micro, I'd love some more specs, something for scale reference? |
